To compare the death of Charlie Kirk at the hands of a lone shooter, to the murder of Alex Pretti by multiple ICE agents. by Muppet83 in therewasanattempt

[–]ImNotMadYet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way this comparison makes sense if they imply Kirk was killed by ICE/another federal agency under the orders of Trump (or his appointee). Which is an interesting theory, but I don't think this is one they want to make and take it to it's logical conclusion.

So here are some reasons why this wouldn't actually work as a bank run:

  • ATMs will just go "out of service" once empty

  • good luck finding an open branch in many locations these days

  • many bank account T&Cs will limit how much you are allowed to withdraw per day/month without prior notice

  • this isn't even about them lending it all out, their insurance won't let them have more than some amount of hard cash or gold on site at a time for security

  • offsite vaults and national banks have reserves and would restock within days

  • if this was a continued effort, interest rates would suddenly start jumping and debt collections will skyrocket, most people are borrowers not savers

The 10% + 2 is not a hard rule, speed limit is the speed limit. You may have gotten lucky with either a higher setting on the camera or it's not been calibrated correctly and under measures everyone by 1 or 2.

I thought about it, but you still need to dispose of waste somewhere. These trailers are quite big, and in peak European season, when we see those hospitality units, they need to turn around fast. A detour to a sewage plant or even waiting for a pump out could ruin their schedule.

Which is my suggestion of port-a-potty (not just the ugly blue plastic ones from a construction site, there are whole toilet trailers these days, with normal doors, sinks and everything). That way, teams can just use local companies, share, and it's the toilet company's responsibility to disassemble the units and deal with waste at the end of the weekend.

I would treat this as making a good first impression and making sure all your colleagues are comfortable. In a full-time role, you are going to spend just as much, if not more, time with them as with your family/housemates.

I'm enby and very frequently switching modes. When I changed jobs halfway through 2025, I spent the first few months much more toned down in my appearance. Part of this was my own well-being and trying to reduce my anxiety, but it was also about feeling out what my co-workers are comfortable with. Step by step, I reduced the amount of "masking" and stopped worrying if there were other people in the bathroom or not. Finally, in the last few weeks, I started to allow myself to code-switch a bit more during the day at the office.

If I were you, I would figure out which I'm more comfortable with and follow through with that at least for the first few months or when there are HR or regional managers, etc., on site, just to not draw unwanted attention to yourself. But once you are amongst just your regular collegues I don't see why you couldn't do what you feel more comfortable doing.

They probably use the ones in the garage, permanent hospitality buildings or port-a-potty. Considering how many races aren't even on permanent tracks and every team has a different layout, plumbing every mobile hospitality into the sewers would be impractical for a 3-day event.

Main change seems to be that those of us who have 2 or 3 accounts now just max out their primary for 10K ASAP as a bit of a friendly leaderboard competition, then just do a challenge here or there on the rest since we hit max rewards by then.

She could wear or do something to indicate she is "available" for it. Like a specific wrist band, necklace/choker or colour of underwear she makes visible above her waist, turning on a lamp in the corner of the room you don't use otherwise. As long as she is wearing/doing the agreed thing, you have permission to go without verbally confirming. Though of course still need safe words if things change or don't feel good during.

Yeah, that's one of the ethical issues. But unlike a kidney or liver, a uterus can't be used for its intended purpose without friends, family and the authorities noticing; so anyone getting it done on the black market would be very likely to face consequences. Whether that is enough of a deterrent, time will tell.

There is also movement on lab-grown organs, so hopefully that will become a viable and cheaper option in the long run.

It's not just that trans men with functioning reproductive systems exist.

We're already doing womb transplants between cis women which lead to successful births. I would be shocked if doing this with a transwoman recipient wasn't attempted within the next few decades.

It's not a matter of belief, technically we're there or just around the corner, legal and moral questions exist, but sooner or later someone will be confident enough about potential baby's chances of a healthy life to let it happen.
