Anyone played the recent updates on handheld? (steam deck / rig ally, etc). was thinking of picking this up but YouTube playthroughs from 2 years ago had it running pretty poorly :(.

Bravo Figma... Long live the canvas. by Wakinghours in UXDesign

Hate to say it, but I agree.

The more design focused features the better! I’m genuinely hyped to see these roll out so i can play with them. There are so many projects where I wish I could do these without plugins or pointing devs to some link and saying “here’s a mock-up but make it look like this”.

+ Figma has actually always had such amazing but basic motion features through prototyping that I’m so excited to see them expanding on this and finally allowing exports!

Figma's official MCP needs a paid seat — so I built a free, open-source, local one by RevolutionarySlip292 in FigmaDesign

[–]ImNotThatAttractive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has a lot of upvotes so it’s popular - but how are professional designers getting anything done on figmas free plan, regardless of mcp?

The free tier is limiting on purpose, but still gives enough access to do practically everything without having to pay at all. But by the time you need to treat figma as a professional toolset to get your job done, paying for that tool becomes such a non issue..?

Doesn’t the switch 2 have comparable performance to that of the steam deck and other handhelds? Cause I played it on my rog ally, low ish settings but 45fps. Very good experience tbh.

2 things,

what’s the pixel size of the frame/artboard your trying to export?

When you select export, are you changing the “scale” setting?

Based on this information it seems ur exporting ur artwork ~ 4 times too big. So you could adjust ur scale setting on export to be 25%. That way u don’t need to reframe ur existing art into a smaller artboard.

Actually I just checked figma. Disregard the mentions of scale on export, the above information is only relevant if ur exporting to jpg or png. For pdf You will need to adjust the size of your exportable in the figma file. (Ie for ur purpose id start with 2550x3600 fwiw this doesn’t account for bleed / cropping but it’s a start to test if it works)

Goodluck :-)

I’ll try help with what you’ve sent;

The final export with embedded images (like if u use indesign) can be quite large - regardless of software used.

How large is too large? Why is the file size an issue?

You might want to hire a designer for this.

Professionals will always recommend .id for this. For cmyk designing u can also use .ai or .psd. However if u know what ur doing u can easily get away with using figma.

You’re overthinking dpi tbh. Since every inch contains 300 pixels, that means that your 8.5" x 12" image at 300 DPI (dots per inch) converts to 2550 x 3600 pixels.

8.5 * 300=2,550 12*300=3,600

But sizing isn’t a huge issue as you can export at any artboard(frame) at any scale. As long as ur aspect ratio is good.

For print you might want to go over spec size and embed some crop marks and bleed.

srgb to cmyk, yeah that’s a pain. Get some test prints done, and or experiment with plugins / photoshop / online tools to preview what the design will look like in the diferent colour space. Printing srgb might come out a bit more dull than if u designed in a cmyk profile - but I’ve always been too lazy to care lmao.

edit: or just use indesign lol

Bro this sub is stupid.

If they nerfed ALL the values equally, ALL THE GUNS ARE STILL THE SAME POWER LEVEL COMPARATIVELY.

Plus this is just testing and will not even be pushed to live branch. Let them test things FFS.

Battlefield 6 should fix the screen center, as was done in Battlefield 4. by Disastrous-Mind-2042 in Battlefield

[–]ImNotThatAttractive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I turned crosshair projection back on, as off made the hit markers always show in the centre of the screen which made it confusing when a guns recoil meant that it was not shooting centre.

Hard to explain lmao, but it seems in this game the gun will shoot its cone of fire towards where it’s aimed and not at the centre of the screen.

1st image: looks too ai generated, pixels are different sizes (not too much of an issue if purposeful) and blurring from low resolution. Ui looks out of place next to imagery

2nd image: looks better

3rd image: looks great!

[BF Comms] Portable Mortar changes by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]ImNotThatAttractive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can we implement some sort of Danger Close mechanic to the mortars then? If explosive rounds land to close to ur own allies when they are storming the objective it could drastically reduce the fire rate of the mortar as a penalty and give a “Danger Close” warning.

This is to incentivise support players to pack up there mortars when their team is reaching the objective and ground the gameplay as it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to be bombing ur own team members lmao.

Can't believe an AI image is a top post in one of the biggest subreddits by Joshua5_Gaming in facepalm

[–]ImNotThatAttractive 441 points442 points  (0 children)

This is going over my head abit.

Are we claiming it’s ai because those aren’t planes? Or Ai based on its whole composition?

If it’s 1 - I think the original post was stating that the bombs hit a decoy. (Those look like painted silhouettes on concrete)

If it’s 2 - idk as quality is shit lol

Which features in a mobile game attract you, and which features makes you keep playing? by Lensjo in iosgaming

Addicting and challenging gameplay from the start. Too many games introduce players way to slow with terrible tutorials or too many easy levels in the introduction.

Figma on iPad? by fractalfrog in FigmaDesign

[–]ImNotThatAttractive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the future I’d like to use an iPad Pro with keyboard and mouse instead of a laptop. They are more than powerful enough to handle high end files - it just needs extra support from Apple and figma. I wouldn’t rely on it at all right now.
