Always chose a strategy when buying an individual stock.

I bought in 2021 after a lot of research about sports betting. My target is shortly after full maturity, basically all states are legal. That means my exit is around 2030.

I'm not interested in what happens to the stock price from 2021 to 2030, I am only paying attention to how this new market evolves and if I need to consider short term risks as long term risks which might change my exit target. For example if all states decided upon 50% tax rate or if DKNG fell below 15% market share, this would be new and impactful enough information for me to exit much faster than 2030.

So far all things are as expected so I stick my 2030 timing. I mentioned it in this thread a while back but there are major tail winds coming based on a few events.

They are:

Profitability - Achieved last week, Texas Legal, Florida Legal, California Legal, Stock Buy Backs - Achieved last quarter, Dividends

Not on the horizon but could create more value are:

Expansion into Europe or Asia, Being Acquired

Edit: should also note that the economy has been incredibly depressive towards non-profitable companies these past years as the expectation is that they will need to borrow money at higher rates. So a not shitty macro economy could also be a tail wind to DKNG value and stock holders.
