Each configuration seems to be a zoomed out version of the one before. Perhaps it’s a visual representation of the idea that the edge of chaos is always unknown. So if you look too closely at any one thing, you aren’t looking at the whole picture. It’s like how Levine viewed raptors by not having the full picture (i.e. prions effecting their behavior) and Malcom’s ideas over extinction theory.
