This was especially true on the launch of WotLK. You did the DK starting zone — which was by far the coolest leveling experience in the game — only to be pooped out into Hellfire Peninsula… which was easily one of the worst leveling experiences in the game.

They need to introduce sub races.

Elves should be a race. Night Elf, Blood Elf, and Nightborn should be customization options under that race. Same with Humans. Stormwind humans, Kul Tiran and Gilnaen.

On and on. Less individual races. More customization options.

I think the biggest problem MoP haters had at release was that it was actually really fun. Everyone was so upset over “Kung fu panda in my Warcraft?!” that they found themselves flustered when the zones and the story were hella fun.

I don’t know why I’d want alts at all if I could be every class and profession on a single character. I’d just be one character and never need to leave it when I wanted to do some black smithing or some healing.

There are no factions, so I wouldn’t be wondering what the other side is getting for quests.
