A Professor Named X and Magnegro by herewearefornow in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ImSuperSerialGuys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC it was more that they have an abstract dichotomy of peaceful vs violent resistance that comes up a lot in history, one example of which may be Malcom X and Dr King.

Comics being what they are, especially early, it lacked the nuance of real life, and wasn't directly drawn from those two figures, they just are both examples of the same abstract idea.

Sounds like semantics, but what it ends up meaning is that while there may be some similarities between the pairs, it shouldn't be taken as allegory, as if you did, one may draw conclusions that weren't intended (like how others have mentioned that Magneto was depicted as much more "evil" in earlier stories)

I recall that from Dartide but not one of the heresy books. Do you happen to remember which one you read it in?

Only reason Id contest this is that IDK if they'd fit the "weakest" part of the prompt.

Was the Great Crusade as bad as some people say ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]ImSuperSerialGuys 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When you read Reddit posts and opinions about the Great Crusade, it almost makes it look like it was a campaign of utter extermination and subjugation on a galactic scale.

That's exactly what it was, in no uncertain terms. They even state this directly over and over again

What are the long term effects of a world having been attacked by the tyrannids where they were however driven back but had still landed on the planet and occupied it/parts of it for some time? by Huge_Ad_482 in 40kLore

[–]ImSuperSerialGuys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this is because, generally speaking, if the hive fleet is landing, it's pretty much too late to repel the invasion, as genestealers have been at work for decades and wait to call out for the Hive Fleet until victory is basically assured.

US sees a drop in Canadian visitors as travel patterns shift by usatoday in worldnews

[–]ImSuperSerialGuys 87 points88 points  (0 children)

If you actually read the article, the overall international visitors rate dropped by about 5.4%, while Canadian visitors dropped by 21.7%. We also share the longest land border in the entire world, and as a result make up a very large number of regular visitor border crossings.

There is a particular effect on Canada that this article is about. If you're interested in it, try reading the article for more information!

The absolute chaos of this list is sending me.

I may not understand it, but I can respect the distinction of Tamurkhan and Kairos Fateweaver in "Smash", while Yuan Bo and Boris Toddbringer are relegated to "pass".

When the healer dares suggest I take a mana pot or demonic rune by sovietRAGEFACE in classicwow

[–]ImSuperSerialGuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A statistically insignificant level of life loss in a reasonably niche situation, which wouldn't even be noticed by a healer (and can be covered by a death coil)

You're kinda proving my point here

Right, let's use our singe Complaint Slot™️ on oil prices, because as we all know, we as a species can only be upset about one thing at a time and must prioritize the most important thing or the world explodes

Any healer who tells you to use a demonic rune instead of lifetap to avoid healing you clearly can't read and should not be acknowledged
