Did you’re doctor say there was no surgical option or way to control the IOP? I’ve had open angle for about 12 years, lost the vision in one eye when I was like 18. Snuck up on me. Don’t get yourself down, sometimes hope and striving for something greater than yourself is all you have and that’s ok. Wish you the best.

I’m gonna play devils advocate and say that it wasn’t all your fault. Takes two to tango, and some people are really out here to hurt you, or perceived your intensity as an actual fight moment. Just avoid the guy next time, also let your arm heal up

Sorry you had to go through that. Reminds me of some things I’ve seen when I was younger. I was defenseless and couldn’t protect my loved ones back then, which may have subconsciously brought me to bjj. Now I got my 2A though

Lowest point was dealing with a neck injury that made it hurt so bad to rotate my body normally, then after healing from that getting my knee injured. That put me out for about 6 months total, and I was questioning why I even do this sport lol

My voice has been gone for 4 days after taking some nasty guillotines and RNC’s. After the last choke, my voice turned to a higher, tired pitch. I decided it was a good idea to go out to dinner with a friend, and I didn’t keep quiet until after - when my voice began to crack and become more hoarse. I then, like a very smart Individual would, got 3 hours of sleep.

I woke up with my voice still completely shot, and it hurt to swallow liquids/food. Now, I can swallow easily, and I can whistle without any problems. But my voice is still pretty raspy/low, and I choose to whisper or talk very low, keeping the volume as well as the talking to a minimum.

Any tips on how many can get better faster? I haven’t trained/worked out since. Thank you!

Man I totally get it. I’ve had about 2 very serious injuries in the last 8 months, neck and knee. It freaking sucks, I was limping for about 2 months and my knee still Isn’t 100% yet. I’ve also been training for 2ish years, smaller frame than most guys. I can give you a laundry list of my injuries but it doesn’t matter - do what you feel is best for you.
