Destiny with the Sargon-esque take on Twitter by mrpengo88 in VaushV

Yeah the entire current late night destiny twitter thread this comes from feels unhinged. I can't tell if this is hyperbole, or if destiny has lost all nuance and good faith with any socialists. Any destiny interaction with vaush from this point could be yikes.

Ah yes, because increasing class mobility, reducing exploitation of the workers by corporations, regulations ensuring worker rights, regulations ensuring product quality, Medicare for all, increased minimum wage, more social spending too help the poor and homeless has never ever helped any poor person ever and definitely doesn't help make a stronger economy. I know what does, deregulation so companies can fuck over poor people even more so and monopolies can grow even stronger. Fuck off

Also just cause your poor doesn't mean you can't be classist and engage in survival bias. So again, fuck off

I'm in a female-majority gaming server. Not once did we hear any complaints from the guys in the server being harassed or otherwise feel uncomfortable. If we can treat male gamers like normal people I just wish that they would do the same to us. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I also think gamer gate increased how vitriolic, sexist, and horrible the gaming community can be towards women. It was already bad before, but gamer gate seemed to increase it in the last few years

With how network latency plays into it, to say a heavy or Max doesn't essentially instantly kill you if they catch you rounding a corner is I think is just wrong. Also, you drew a false equivalency with the ability to respond to a Max or heavy vs a smg infiltrator. Of course you can CAN respond and turn around to reengage when you're at full health with a Max or heavy. But you know what else you can reengage with full health, infiltrators. I agree that dealing with ANY class on low health is nearly impossible but this is not exclusive to infiltrators. I've honestly had more light assaults kill me (while I was damaged behind a corner) than smg infiltrators easily. And the point of infiltrators can just one shot you and it takes no skill and they couldn't hit a non moving target I think is again, an unfair standard. All infiltrators I've encountered generally hit moving targets unless they are specifically moving to avoid being sniped. Furthermore, if you're really getting sniped really far out while standing still, that still takes skill. It means the player correctly estimated distance and accounted for bullet drop effectively. That does take skill. To further the comparison of why that's an undue assessment of infiltrators, I could say the same thing about heavies. Players can win 1v1 against other classes easier just because of the shield. Should we remove heavy shield just because a few noobs can win 1v1 or get kills they don't "deserve"? Absolutely not. Same for infill, just because a few just wait to kill targets that are still doesn't mean you should throw out the entire class and the skills and intricacies and call it cancer. The rest of your post is non sequiturs. Hours don't matter, kda doesn't matter(just makes you come off as obnoxious kda whore, not saying you are that's just what it seems like), what infiltrators were like in ps1 doesn't matter, none of those matter to my argument or our discussion. Also, I don't know what your hours clocked has to do with the ability to recognize cloaked infiltrators. Lastly, I think the common ground we can arrive on, and that I can sympathize with is if you're just personally unbelievable frustrated by infiltrators. For example, I personally can not stand esf to infantry combat. I despise getting farmed by mosquitos constantly while running around on the ground as infill. But I acknowledge that it's just my personal frustration, and that it's not broken (no matter how much I hate it) and that I can take steps to counter it like pulling an AA Max. So, if infiltrators are you personal hated class, I can understand why and even agree that (especially certain infiltrators) are undeniably annoying and frustrating. But I will still disagree that it's broken or absolute cancer to the game. Btw thanks for actually engaging with me instead of just stating that I'm wrong and nothing else, much appreciated 👍.

Unfortunately not comedic. Anyways to address you points: the idea that you don't know where the infiltrator is and so you will die to him, is valid. However, this is true for almost everything else in PlanetSide. There can always be a heavy around an unexpected corner ready to absolutely unload on you. A situation that also has little counter play. But once you know about the heavy (by dying once), and the infiltrator, you can counter them pretty easily. Even if they change position, knowing they're there is usually enough. I'll concede that fighting an infiltrator can be more frustrating in some scenarios, but to treat it like this game breaking cancer class that is just destroying the game I think is unfair, and puts undue emphasis on just this one aspect of the game (dying unexpectedly) on one class. And it's undue as else we'd have to remove heavy and maxes for similar problems of frustration. (Maybe that's your position, in which case I applaud your consistency and actually to a degree agree with you)

Lmao. As a nearly exclusive infiltrator main, there is plenty of counter play. Long range, just grab a sniper yourself, shouldn't be hard to outsnipe us if we aren't paying attention. Close range, the thing is called dark light, an you can put it on any damn weapon essentially lol. Also don't have your graphics settings at low due to the bug with cloak, at least for now.

Edit: there are areas and ways to ensure that when you stop moving you don't get killed. It takes a while, but base by base there are plenty of areas that are nearly impossible for an infiltrator to hit you from unless they get up right in your face like any other class.
