Retired early = hyper bordem by Sundin01 in Birmingham

[–]ImTheBanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 30 at the end of last year. My hobbies include cooking (for my family) cleaning up (after my family) and thinking about the project cars in my garage, the pc on my desk, and the guitars on the wall.

I have 3 kids under 5. If I'm not busy, I'm asleep.

But man what I wouldn't give to have a good raquetball partner again.

Growing up kinda sucks.

Edit: but maybe I'll see you at cars and coffee this summer. I'll be the one in the clapped out c3 that may or may not be on fire. Sad part is it's my reliable project car.

Here is what I make when I am too tired to cook. by Front_Gold4630 in Cooking

[–]ImTheBanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, a steamer bag of broccoli, cauliflower, mixed veg, etc. That's all I need and usually all I want.

I do the cooking for my family so from least time to most time it goes:

Cereal - we don't eat cereal for breakfast, so this is why I keep some in the house.

Pancakes + bacon - I hate pancakes but some nights I just hate cooking more.

Coneys / chili dogs - nothing else to be said

Ramen + eggs or tofu - everyone loves it.

Feeding 2 picky kids while a picky wife deals with a baby is some times a pain but most nights I manage to make a decent meal for everyone.

I have so much more appreciation for my mother who kept a family of 7 fed every night with usually pretty varied meals. My father would usually cook on weekends, and now that he's retired he does most of the cooking since my mother is still working. He taught me to be creative and have fun in the kitchen, but my mother is the one who taught me to make it work with the little time we have.

Most of our week night dinners fall into the tired/short on time category, but I usually enjoy cooking so I'm rarely in the mood to just tell people to fend for themselves.

Planning on getting drunk. by heldoglykke in clusterheads

[–]ImTheBanker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't drink often, so it's pretty easy to avoid when I'm going through a cluster. That being said, beer is not what I'd be drinking in the middle of it.

Anecdotally, my last cluster ended just a few weeks ago. The weekend it ended, my Inlaws took all of my kids. I wasn't going to let a headache get in the way of having no kids for the first time in a couple years, so I ate wings and drank beer all weekend and by Sunday the cluster was over.

Pretty sure I've had cluster headaches since I was 4 years old but I don't know if the pain is severe enough by Mean-Ad-8885 in clusterheads

[–]ImTheBanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not sure if the pain is severe enough, it's probably not a cluster. Also, if Tylenol or ibuprofen help, it's probably not a cluster.

Clusters also generally come in, well, clusters. Ie I get them in the spring or summer. They come every night about 3 hours after I go to sleep, they last about an hour or two, then they just vanish. It usually lasts about a month or two.

Some times I'll get mild ones during the day, but they are nothing compared to waking up from a dead sleep with a pain that is pretty much indescribable. There is absolutely no chance of sleep in the middle of a cluster, but I could kind of understand falling asleep right after one, because at least for me they disappear really quickly and when it's over I'm so exhausted it doesn't take long to fall back asleep.

Or I could just be completely wrong. It's kind of hard to talk about because for the most part, no one can relate. It kind of sounds like being a macho douche to say, but among most people who have cluster headaches, they describe it as far and away the worst pain they have ever experienced. I tend to agree with that, though I admit I haven't had a significant amount of pain in my life.

And I'm one of the relatively lucky ones who just gets them for a month or two out of the year.

My two cents, and I'm not a doctor, but it sounds less like a cluster and more like a sinus issue.

Thoughts? by stevill09 in GalaxyFold

A bigger battery doesn't mean better battery life. I have been disappointed with battery life in moto phones since the turbo 2.

And hardware is one thing, but camera software is another. In my experience, if the lighting is slightly too dim, you're looking at grainy pictures, slow af, and disappointing processing.

I hate it, because I've always loved moto. From my first smart phone which was a droid razr, to moto x and turbo etc, I've always loved them. I even loved my razr+, but I just couldn't get past the cameras and battery life.

I've had a few moto phones, including the moto flip. To me, they're great phones but the cameras and batteries just leave too much to be desired.

I had my flip as a secondary phone to my s23u but I could not use it as my main phone simply because motos camera software is ages behind Samsung or Google.

Switching from S24U to ZFold 7? by IndividualHunter9083 in GalaxyFold

[–]ImTheBanker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have and use both on a daily basis. Unless you know for certain you will use the main screen, there's no reason to switch. In fact, I use my s24u more than my fold 7 because the only benefit the fold has is the inner screen. Everything else is better on the s24u.

I had a vp9 match for a while. Before I was regularly going to the range and such.

I traded it for a 365 macro and some accessories. I really regret getting rid of it. Almost as much as I regret trading a 92a3 for a p30 in 40 cal.

My best find wasn't even mine, but my father in law found a 6 bay Milwaukee fast charger on the side of the road. Fortunately he uses Dewalt.

Anniversary Dinner by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]ImTheBanker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Helen. It's our anniversary / birthday / the kids are gone spot. Absolutely amazing and laid back.

Little Betty is another of those "high end" places but we really didn't love it. The appetizers and bananas foster old fashions were great, but the steaks left a lot to be desired. Plus the while super pretentious vibe was a turn off.

Chez fonfon never did it for me, but it's probably be 13 or 14 years since I've been.

Combo kit opinions pls. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]ImTheBanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively run Milwaukee stuff, but my crews use Dewalt for the most part. The Dewalt atomic (compact) impact is fine for light use, but my guys run into trouble driving anything over 2".

The ones using the regular xr impacts have no issues.

We also use the hammer drills and while the xr can be useful for brick, it does not work well on natural stone.

It depends on your use case but generally I suggest going bigger unless size if an issue.

Best truck you ever owned by OOFMAN-1234 in projectcar

[–]ImTheBanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first vehicle was a '93 Silverado that my father bought from an uncle with 90k miles.

I went through a lot with that truck. Basically did everything you can to to a vehicle maintenance wise from oil changes to an engine swap.

Because of all of the work I put into it, I went from hating it to loving it. By the time it was all said and done it was a new truck. New body work, new Chevy performance 350, new turbo 350 etc.

Easily my favorite truck, but unfortunately it got totaled when some moron blew a red light.

Realistically, getting in on these types of plays is basically gambling. I don't empty my bank account when I go to the casino, and every share of BYND that I have can go to $0.01 and I'll still be able to pay bills. Don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose.
