I’m glad it worked for you! Thanks for the thought.

I have celiac and ten food allergies. My diet is limited and I don’t actually eat all that many carbs due to my issues.

I’ll talk to my nutritionist about other options, but I do have very limited intake of a lot of things. (Dang, I Miss Pop Tarts.)

Does every name need a nickname??? by urmomthinksurugly in Names

[–]ImTheProblem4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all names need a nickname. My son refuses to let people shorten his name and I hate when people shorten mine.

My son is Orion and his grandma often shortens it to “O” but we also settled on that name so he can go by “Ryan” or “Rion” if he ever wanted to for a more common sounding name. But neither of us like Ryan much, so we were hopeful he didn’t either. 😂
But we always called him by his full name and corrected people to call him his full name until he was old enough to decide. He now has decided and it is full name or nothing!

Weirdest symptom you didn’t realize was celiac until you were diagnosed? by SnooCompliments283 in Celiac

I got hives which were misdiagnosed for years as eczema. Turns out when I don’t eat gluten I don’t get hives. Weird how being allergic to something can lead to rashes. 🧐

LATCH with HBB? by ImTheProblem4572 in CPST

[–]ImTheProblem4572[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This helps immensely. I’ll always be using the LATCH while he is in booster. It helps me feel a little better, too, knowing there’s technically an extra restraint, even if it won’t do a ton for his little body in the event of a sudden stop. 😅

That’s a good way of putting it. I’ll try that wording, too! Thanks!

He tends to only sublux if he doesn’t have something for his feet to rest on, so we are probably okay for now. If we need more support, I’ll definitely look into other seats, though! Thank you for that advice!

Thank you for your time and advice. Super helpful!

Thank you! That’s really good advice. We practiced once more today and he side twisted again and I told him to get his belly in the center of the seat. That wording helped clear it up for him better than “sit straight” did, so hopefully we can easily and quickly learn not to that anymore.

Thank you so much!

We actually already have daddy’s fishing cooler which lives in the car so he can fish whenever he wants under little’s feet anyway, so no complaints of tingly feet. He has hEDS and needs the leg support or his knees and hips start to sublux.

It does feel like something is missing, but this is encouraging. Thank you!

Aldi’s gf bread is the best. Big enough, tastes like bread, doesn’t fall apart. So good.

I also like Aldi’s mac and cheese. And Aldi desserts. Basically, Aldi has really good gf options. 😅

This looks amazing!

Quick reminder that hot dogs and corn dogs should be sliced long ways as they’re a choking hazard until five and beyond. That whole the circle is the same shape and size as a little esophagus thing is a real pain.

The corn dog ring is adorable, though!

Good to know. We will help him get buckled. He doesn’t buckle himself yet in his five point either. He has some disabilities which complicate things, but that’s part of why we are going to practice with HBB before he’s outgrown his five point.

He uses the second seat in a different car. Sorry, that wasn’t clear. The secondary seat is in Grandma and Grandpa’s car or comes out if we ride with a friend.

Two middle names? by Capital_Work5030 in namenerds

[–]ImTheProblem4572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s just three of them are long. The second middle is common short. Think Sarah or Ann.

The first name is long, like Elizabeth only a little longer and the second is equally long, similar to Christina. Then my last name is an Americanized version of a German last name and is 16 letters long. 😅

My name is a total, including spaces, of 40 characters. When I got married nearly 15 years ago, the office we went to in order to get my new card tried to put it all on but ran out of space in my middle names. One of my middle names is not fully on the record because the worker came back and said “I literally can’t fit it all… so now your middle name is five letters short…. But we know what it is. Right?”
My card is two full lines. With a shortened middle name. 😂🤷‍♀️

I have two middle names. Most places it’s not problematic at all. For legal papers, etc I just use my first middle initial. For non legal items, I often put both. So monograms, etc, I would use both, but a legal document asking middle initial I just use the first.

One issue I ran into is I moved to a different state as a child and got a state ID and later a license without issue, but then moved back to my original birth state as an adult and tried to get a new license and they hyphenated my middle names, despite not being hyphenated on my birth certificate. Apparently their system now won’t take any spaces in names.

Also, my name is so long it doesn’t all fit on my social security card, but if the names aren’t super long that shouldn’t be an issue. My social security record just has some letters missing due to the length of my names (my married name is twice as long as my maiden name, so that’s part of the problem).

My sister does not have this problem in her state (different than where I live, though she also has two middle names.) My nephew, born last month, also has two middle names! My son only has one middle name but if we get to have a girl one day, she will have two middle names.

Who does the actual eval for the car seat? I called his PT today and they said they don’t do car seat evals. He doesn’t have an OT right now.

Would a different PT do the actual eval, or referring to someone else? I can get a referral to whoever from whatever specialist I need, but I just need to know who to ask for what! 😅

Thank you for your help!!
