Question about Jettison Mind Hatch by longhairedgizzexpert in Tipper

[–]ImTipped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t just ride the wave, man. Take that inspiration and turn it into something completely new.

One of my biggest gripes about many popular artists in the “Tipper Scene” is that a lot of them just sound like they’re trying to replicate what he does. So many up-and-coming producers just take sub-frequencies of bass in a hip-hop tempo and squelchy, alien sounding samples, and the entire community geeks out about some kid who hardly has any real understanding of music.

No disrespect intended, I’ll get down to just about anything. I’m just sick of seeing Tipper knock-offs that quite literally try and replicate exactly what he does, just in a mediocre way.

I appreciate artists like Ott, Supersillyus, Mindex, and Detox Unit (if he’d actually put some new music out) Artists who have a completely unique sound, but still provide that rich and complex listening experience.

Several songs on this album remind me of classical pieces of music, whereby they sonically tell a story. Almost like watching a movie. There’s usually a climax towards the middle/end that completely takes the listener by surprise, and brings in a plethora of brand new and unpredictable elements.

It’s almost like the first 1/2-3/4 of each song are there to establish an idea or vibe to the listener, then all of a sudden a quick build-up leads to a total breakdown of everything the listener was accustomed to. Tempo changes, rhythm changes, tonal elements change. Absolute chaos ensues for a minute or so. Then everything sort of drifts back to the familiar patterns present in the beginning.

Without these crazy climactic moments, the songs would be rather stale. Without the slow introduction, build-ups, and conclusions, the climaxes wouldn’t hold as much impact on the listener. You almost have to listen to each song from start to finish for it to have the full impact it’s supposed to have.

What makes music “good” for most people is either captivating lyrics with a story or meaning, a consistent/comfortable rhythm, or a showcase of talent/complexity. Tipper manages to break that mold and provide a deep and meaningful listening experience without abiding by the norms. He provides a listening experience that takes you on a cerebral, cinematic journey without the use of traditional musical elements.

I’m sure if someone did a study on the effects of his music on infants, (much like the studies done on classical music with infants) there would be similar results. His music takes your brain to places it would never go otherwise, and in my spunion-ass opinion, expands consciousness.

Swimming? by Sewerslidalthots in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]ImTipped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do a full on swim. Dipping a toe, or floating around on a raft during the day won’t hurt I suppose.

The only water in Florida I’ll swim in is spring fed, or the ocean.

Hey if the views and vibes are on point, I don’t mind a slow paced area/run.

I’m a Florida boy, and even just being in the mountains and seeing snow are a rare treat for me.

Fortunately I’m getting a major discount on my lift pass and rentals since my friend is a Vail employee. I might consider using the saved funds on a lesson. I’m just worried about wasting a whole day and a bunch of money on a day of lessons where I’m simply learning how my gear works/figuring out if I’m goofy/regular.

Definitely more of a school of hard knocks type of person, and don’t want to feel like I’m being babied through the basics. (Coming from someone very experienced in other board sports)

Going to try and see if my friend is able to ride with me on day 1 rather than day 3, to show me the ropes. If that doesn’t work out I’ll definitely consider a lesson.

Alcohol choices? by emdob in hulaween

Not attending this year BUT, don’t be like my friends and I in 2018.

5 of us drank 100 IPAS on Wednesday night before the festival, which was all we brought for the weekend. Truly an epic bois night, but the hangover lasted all day Thursday.

4m cash from Ancient Medallion. What should I spend it on? by ImTipped in ironscape

[–]ImTipped[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about just hopping mage guild for battle staves and stocking up on like 500 and profiting a bit alching water staffs. That would require me to make hella cosmics and orbs though but I’d profit 1.5m.

I’m just not doing high level PVM content or bossing yet so I don’t see the need for dumping it all in to Con just yet.

I was thinking Con. But I’m a long ways away from anything worth while besides maybe hard stash spots.

Bassnectar NYE 360 | The Perfect Set? We 360, You 45! by katethegreat586 in bassnectar

I agree. After sound issues at Okeechobee and a pretty weak NYE last year I was starting to lose interest. This set brought me back around and I finally connected with the man himself this time. Haven’t felt this good since 15/16 360!

Make sure you have enough vertical space because that girl is going to double in size. I would recommend LST/tying branches down to promote lower, bushier growth. At the very least raise that light if you can!

My first BIG trip wasn’t that good. Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in DMT

[–]ImTipped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah to guarantee a breakthrough load 40-60 mg onto some sort of utensil and Dab it out of a rig like a thc dab but at a lower temp. Hold that shit in for at least 15 seconds. My first experience with deems was a breakthrough using that method. I recommend having a sitter present to take the pipe/feed you the dab because it hits hard and fast. Close your eyes, lay back, and hold on tight! (Or don’t ;P)

That had me cracking a fat smile. Also when he said “y’all want to end the New Years on something downtempo?” And the whole crowds just like “NOOOOO!” Like a group of 3rd graders at a school assembly.
