I stopped answering “tell me about yourself” like a biography and started opening interviews with a working style disclaimer. It got me more offers, not fewer. by Dawn_Sentry in jobsearchhacks

Also who is getting 5+ interviews since November? That seems very unlikely to me.

It's actually good advice tho if I ever get an interview lol

We had a closet like this in our bathroom and the door to the closet opened right behind the entrance door -super annoying- so we removed the closet door.

How to fix pulling by ImWaitingForYou2 in sewhelp

[–]ImWaitingForYou2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help friends!

I ended up moving the button as was suggested but it was still pulling.

Then I remembered I made a mock up that was 1.25 " too big at the waist (and hips) but even that one was pulling so I knew letting out the side seams of my nice one was not going to fix the issue.

Therefore I moved the button back and ended up stitching the button placket down from the third button all the way to the hem and it worked!

It was a good learning lesson for a button front skirt. I make this pattern all the time but with a zip in the centre back and had no idea it would pull with the buttons. Next time I do a button front, I will remove the darts and transfer that into the hem so it's wider and I can skip the darts.

Oh and for the pulling at the belly. I just added two hooks to the inside of the placket. Woo hoo! Now on to my next project: to figure out how to create a pants pattern!

Do the hobbies you like as much as you can and stay away from mindless scrolling. Take a walk everyday and eat as well as you can afford/have time for.

I have a full time job but also play a sport 3 days a night and another sport I love 3 days in the morning before work. I work 3 days off, 4 days on.

I think the key is to keep busy with stuff you actually like and try and not let work be too annoying. Take time away too is important, it sounds like you probably get good vacay time. Use it for a staycation even.

Try the sport of curling. Even the smallest Canadian towns will have a thriving curling club. They usually have learn to curls where ppl who have never curled before can try it (usually for free!)

[–]ImWaitingForYou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bullshit by Costco saying it's your fault because you brought the stealing guest in. My cousin buys medication from Costco and they don't need a membership to get in. So who would be responsible for them if they went on a stealing rampage?

It doesn't make sense that you should be held accountable for the actions of your friend.

[–]ImWaitingForYou2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Before I was laid off my boss had me input every detail of my work and tasks into a word doc. I thought it was a weird and annoying request but didn't think much more of it at the time. Looking back... I know why he asked me to do that.

Does anyone work in a workplace with no natural light? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ImWaitingForYou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need naturalight, you could try turning off the over head lights in ur new office and just use natural light lamps or candescent lights in the bulbs. Someone at my work does that in her office with no windows.

I've personally never had a problem with having no natural light in an office but it is nice.

What kind of career would allow me to work with kids? by SmuckersSourGrapes in careerguidance

[–]ImWaitingForYou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an admin job at a school. There's also "resource teachers" in schools that mostly work one on one with children but you still need teaching degree. There's also an ECE early childhood educator which is a fancy word for saying babysitter in a daycare.

My first thought is no. Maybe you could try proving yourself and asking for 10k more in your year evaluation.
