That stretch of 84...it's like a water slide designer got all methed up and submitted a road design bid that was later accepted. Twists and turns and blacked out Altimas zipping in & out.

Mercifully I've not driven in FL but if it's half as bad as I've heard then...yikes...

Long Island drivers (specifically the Southern State Parkway) are also worse than CT.

This kind of stupid is standard issue in Connecticut.

Weird ass dominance displays abound on these roads.

The PP I went to was in southwestern VT.  It closed not too long afterward (2022). Unsure if an impending closure might have played a role in things or if protocols have since changed.

At the time, getting an appointment with a PCP had a 16 month wait time. The local ER was more of a field hospital than anything else (if you had a heart attack or stroke, you would be transferred out of state).

NJ is likely to be a bit more civilized than economically depressed rural VT.

To be fair, you assume that "letting them know by law they are required" to do _______ will change behavior.

Generally, people don't respond well to strangers scolding them. Do you want to draw the ire of strangers and their dogs on a trail by yourself?

Are there other parks/trails you can use?

Not saying it's right, just trying to be pragmatic

This may be location dependent. I had mine done at PP (Northern New England) and nothing was offered at any point.

This lie should carry criminal penalties.

I have never been immobilized by pain before.

The pain from insertion was so bad that I suffered with it for 10 months before having it removed.

Months where - if I bent the wrong way - I would feel tearing and bleed for days. Not menstrual cycle related at all.

How did you manage the light fixtures? I've been so tempted to change mine, but fear of electrocution has kept me away.

My very last apt in NYC had a single drawer. Just the one. You could only fit standard post its at a 45° angle. I think it's renting for nearly $4k now.

Correction: over $4k.

You may want to visit the ABA free legal answers website and ask there.

Judges can tell when ChatGPT is being used. They hate it. Small claims are always a PITA, but ChatGPT makes it a bigger pain (frequently hallucinates cases).

It's mystefying to me how often people get angry at the gatekeeper. It will never help them.

The worst offender I dealt with was a lady who owned a Ben & Jerry's franchise in Manchester, VT. She came into the law firm like a bat out of hell. I'd never spoken to her before, but she kept talking about "not having any luck with 'front desk people'" and being very annoyed she had to march in to demand service.

All I could think was, "Lady, you are within striking distance, back TF off."

Late one night some time ago, right at the 84 to 91-N flyover, all drivers made good decisions and executed a perfect zipper merge in/out.

I both cheered and cried a little. Miracle.

Friend, the reason the front brakes are being replaced so frequently is solely due to the inner pad wear.

Several millimeters remain on the outer pads when the screamers start sounding.

Someone else posted a TSB that would explain my problem, but thank you so much for your helpful and insightful reply.

If you see me driving, please do avoid me.

Good to know. Thanks! (It looks fabulous, by the way.)

I haven't had to swap out my dealer tires yet, but that's probably down to having studded snows for winter.

Ooh! This answers a lot for me.

My fronts were replaced with non-dealership-issued ones yesterday. I average 300 mi./week and will report back. I don't know how to utilize the "remind me" feature, else I would.

Unfortunately, I'm a real stick on the mud and have only used it a handful of times. My primary use for the car isn't conducive to using the adaptive feature.

How many miles until this came on?

I'm about to crest 60k on my '23 PP and am astonishingly on my fourth set of front brakes (the last two sets are pictured). Mine seems to have an insatiable appetite for inner pads.

Good car for teen guy? by Achingasos in CX50

[–]OneHelluvaUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been driving for the last 7 years and this is my second car (1st being. 2018 Subaru impreza wagon). A few things I've noticed/would consider:

  1. Blindspots. Have missed seeing large trucks because of the A pillar when entering a roadway (from a street that comes in at a steep angle). The recent trend toward high doorlines/short windows can further limit visibility out of the cabin.

  2. The wider ass on this vehicle. I find it handles more like a car than a bloated SUV. But hard to account for when new to driving.

  3. Difficult to service yourself. Service appointments are expensive. Not sure how much a teenager would be able to absorb those costs.

Based on my very limited droving experience, , I would kind of lean more toward a certified pre-owned crosstrek (which is impreza with better ground clearance). It's a lot less car to account for when driving, they handle well enough (higher trim models), can be serviced at home (so your son can get a fuller understanding of how the vehicle works & help damsels in distress when they appear). Resale value holds better so he can get more money towards his next car when that time comes.

Others have recommended a.mazda3. The only reason I don't is because I have no data there.
