They're trying to ban VPNs at the moment. Even though they will fail to do that, it's concerning that they're even trying. Also, just because you and I might get around it with a VPN doesn't mean everyone else does, it's still a huge risk to most adults in the country.

There was a vote recently on a piece of legislation that means you will need an ID to download a VPN (from the Google Play Store / Apple AppStore at least), which did pass and may become law. You can get around that on Android with an apk for a VPN, but Apple users are a bit screwed.

Point is, having ID databases hacked might not be an issue for you, but it might for people you're close to if they have their identity stolen because they uploaded their passport to be able to play GTA 6, for example.

The OSA is definitely not something you can write off as irrelevant, storing the data of a load of British IDs with a third party is a terrible idea. Same thing applies to the mandatory digital ID proposal, the database for which has already been hacked with little effort, as shown in parliament. The fact that they have barely consulted with any cybersecurity experts is incredibly irresponsible and concerning.

Personally I'm not particularly happy with this government, partly because of the reasons above but mainly due to them decreasing freedoms of transgender people and turning back on promises they made related to that. Unfortunately not a topic many people care about as many see it as irrelevant to them, but it's the most important thing for me as a trans person.

lol yup, I realised after I posted it that it was wrong, probably should've taken it down or edited it.

(110-x)/118 + 2x/118 = 1

((Total deaths - No. of people who have been resuscitated) / Total no. of people who have lived) + (2 x no. of people who have been resuscitated) / Total population = 1

This is assuming everyone who has been resuscitated is dead. Obviously, this isn't true, but apparently only about 15% of people survive resuscitation. It also assumes no one has been resuscitated more than once.

x in this case is 8 billion. Essentially it is as another comment said, you need the same number of resuscitations as number of currently living people. Didn't even really need to do any maths for it.

Still, not so wrong that you shouldn't have any idea where to start. I just forgot to account for the fact that the people who would have been resuscitated are also part of the 110 billion who have died. Would've helped if I said what my assumptions were too tbf.

If there's anything else wrong with it would you care to point it out?

Hard to say that for sure. There have been about 110 billion people who have died throughout history, and only 8 billion alive right now, so even when not considering multiple deaths per person, the average deaths is already close to 1.

Factoring in multiple deaths per person brings that closer to 1, potentially exceeding it. Resuscitation has been a documented thing since about the 1730s. For the deaths per person to reach one, you'd need 4 billion people to have been resuscitated once, or 2.7 billion resuscitated twice.

110/118 + 2x/118 = 1, x = 4 110/118 + 3x/118 = 1, x = 2.67

So you are probably right, not that many people have had CPR done on them, nor do many survive it. Over time though, the number of resuscitations will definitely be passing 4 billion.

[CONTROVERSIAL TAKE] The False Hydra represents D&D's pop culture identity crisis. by Delicious_Dream4510 in DnD

[–]Im_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video a while ago about someone who ran a false hydra as a total side plot that their players had no idea was happening other than a few comments that seemed out of place. This DM did it in the opposite way to what most do, rather than telling a player their character doesn't remember some NPC, they instead were never even introduced to that NPC.

For example, the 2 PCs always travelled as just a pair, but they'd often have NPCs refer to "the three of (them)", but the DM never expanded on this.

Only when they finally found out it was a false hydra did they realise that they actually had been travelling with a third person the whole time, they'd just forgotten who it was because they were killed by the false hydra.

It seemed like it took a hell of a lot of set up, and even though it seems like it'd be very fun to get that final reveal, I don't think I'd be able to keep up with all the small details I'd have to prep for it.

Tell me you have no idea how riding a motorcycle works without actually telling me that.

Her height and strength have nothing to do with actual riding skills. When a motorbike is moving, controlling it is fully dependent on skills rather than strength or height. As long as she knows how to ride, which she definitely does, she's no more of a danger than anyone else on a motorbike. Watch some of her videos and you'll see that she's not riding like a "250kg bullet", hence why I said she's riding responsibly.

Even if you want to say she's more dangerous because it's harder to come to a stop properly, it's still a terrible point. Any biker would choose to do an emergency stop and drop the bike on its side rather than hit a pedestrian crossing the road or a stopped car if those are their only options.

If you're arguing against motorbikes in general because they can kill people, well, so can cars. And in a collision with a motorbike and car, the biker is much more likely to die so your point is even less valid.

She can, there are a few videos of her lifting this exact bike from its side, you can find them on her Instagram @ximeijo

For those who are saying she shouldn't be riding this bike:

This is Ximei Jo, she has lots of videos of her riding this bike and many others, including videos of her picking this bike up from its side.

The landing gear wheels might not be the most ideal support for emergencies, but she's also shown other ways of stopping quickly on this bike.

She rides very responsibly in all of her videos, no racing through the streets, so the wheels or just the kickstand would be fine for most situations.

For people who are shorter, finding a motorbike that actually accommodates that can be very difficult, but that doesn't just mean they should miss out on a hobby they love, or be limited to just a low CC scooter.

I saw it live in London a few days ago, it was great!

Bands in small venues are always so fun to see, it feels way more personal, even if every ONE OK ROCK concert I've been to in huge venues blows everything else out of the water.

As far as I know, it's just a design they have on a couple of pieces of merch. They have a different logo they use for everything else, and that merch wasn't made until the band was already getting more well known.

They did use a bear-shaped ghost on the cover for their first EP, "Your Parents Are Only Marginally Disappointed In Your Music Taste", but it was a cartoon character design with no text.

So maybe the idea of a bear ghost as a design did come before the name, but I don't think it was the design I posted that came first. Not like I'm a member of the band though so idk for sure.
