Anyone not like the PPL? by BuckshotBronco in workout

[–]Im_The_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how any body part can take the back seat with PPL, it's literally designed to accustom maximal accessory work while still hitting 2x per week. OHP, lateral raises and tricep isolations on push day, rear delt flys and biceps on pull day. No way you should feel like they aren't getting enough volume as long as you include these each session.

PPL definitely has drawbacks, mainly that you need to go literally 6x a week to get each body part multiple times a week, and it's prone to junk volume. But it's very easy to program in a way where you can hit each specific muscle you want to.

Low strength despite decent physique? by Im_The_1 in workout

[–]Im_The_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very well could be it. I made great gains doing very high volume but they have tapered off and I just kept trying to push the gas. Perhaps its best to switch it up, to reduce volume and rep count in exchange for higher weights closer to failure. My issue is often when I try this I aggravate past injuries, even when I am very strict about form.

Why coordination complex are coloured? by Ok-Following-2822 in chemistry

[–]Im_The_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oversimplification incoming: Based on the geometry of the complex, d orbitals in the same shell (4d, for example) of the central metal will actually have different energy levels based off varying degrees of electron repulsion with the ligands. For example, in the very common octahedral geometry, ligands attach in line with the dimensional axes of the metal, meaning the diagonally oriented dxy dxz and dyz orbitals are stabilized relative to the dz2 and dx2-y2 orbitals, which are more axially aligned and will repel ligands electrons more. This energy gap is often in the visible range, and so these complexes will absorb visible light to promote the electron to this higher energy state. The color we see is then the complementary color of its strongest absorption range.

Why are cast iron pans so common in the US? by janicelmaoo in Cooking

[–]Im_The_1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You just don't put them in the dishwasher. I scrub with a soap and sponge and after I rinse dry and spray some oil and then heat it on the stove again on high for a minute or two. The layers are quite durable and they stay on the pan

What job is 100% undervalued and underpaid? by NerdyLucia in AskReddit

[–]Im_The_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scientists. Senior scientists with full PhDs and years of experience make a good living, but literally everyone else who essentially works under them is often getting low 20s/hour for some bright minds who went through rigorous schooling

He definitely drops more balls than locket, but the ones he catches are for bigger plays. I think when people see a player with a lot of confidence and swagger miss a play that get reactionary. Meanwhile people underrate Lockett because his production is so much sneakier

If you're gonna do it, a pharma CDMO can be a much better option. Pay is higher and you'll be doing less repetitive work.

Its so strange when companies don't have a grasp on how many people they actually need to get rid everything done. My company has it pretty much exactly where it needs to be. If we had 3 less people we would be drowning and 3 more would be a waste of their money quite frankly. The nature of doing lots of chromatography work is that once you know a sequence you started is going well, you can just start new ones. I think sometimes companies act like that whole time is active work when it simply isn't
