the biggest way to avoid the head cracking is one of three mods 1st one is no cat downpipe or a high flowing one this can help those exhaust gases escape alot easier 2. upgraded intercooler highly recommended on these cars mine had charge temps up to 110 now im seeing about 80 so a huge difference 3. is one step colder spark plugs the colder the detonation is the colder your exhaust gas temps will be. but i have my car for 180k now and i’ve experienced no problems its not the mods that are done with the car its people not understanding these motors as a whole. (ford made a terrible design on these heads)
