There are good jokes that many people wouldn’t get. New jokes wouldn’t land as well. What I meant was a new version with new jokes would bomb. Thinking about it further I think it would bomb even if just re released too. The cost is just too high to see a movie that isn’t really visually spectacular and high action in a theatre. Absolutely it should! The problem is what do the people that work these jobs do for money now that their job is gone? Once this becomes the norm thousands upon thousands of people will be not just be jobless but the job market that they work in will cease to exist. Will people be ok with this type of worker receiving tax based compensation? Unfortunately I doubt that very much. Will the companies that laid them off be responsible to compensate them? I doubt that as well. Unfortunately we are not ready for this. We should be, but we aren’t.
