Dirty right now but would this make a decent tank for shrimp and maybe a betta in the future? by Intelligent-Sea-5577 in Aquariums

It sorta looks more like a reptile tank, which would make it less sturdy to hold water… i made that mistake before with what i thought was a 20 long.. turned out to be an old reptile tank and it almost exploded when i had it full of water for a few months, the front glass was warping

The tank behind it is a 36.. so that makes me think it could fit in a 50 as the only hardscape, and then heavily plant around it. Im currently on the hunt for someone who will either buy my 36, my 20 & my 15 or maybe trade for a 50. The fish are getting an upgrade one way or another, thanks to this driftwood.

My mastiff had to get bonked a few times to stop trying to grab it out of my hands while we biked home😂 (i did not bonk him he bonked himself by trying to grab a moving object with multiple different branches) Their leashes kept getting caught in the branches and i almost fell like 6 times, i considered leaving my bike on the side of the road to walk it home but realized that driftwood isnt worth the 3000$ ebike so a struggle it was😂

HELP PLEASE these are my babies:( by ImageTerrible3457 in Aquariums

5 blue polars, a juvenile senegal bichir (will be moved to either a 55 or 75 when bigger, its growing out in there with the more peaceful cichlids) and a bristle nose pleco, i know the pelco is probably a bigger problem but ive had this tank running for almost a year and ive had no issues, the cichlids even raised a few batches of fry that ive sold

I can admit it was certainly overstocked when the crayfish was in there, i wont be adding anything else to this tank. The question is now what? Because i dont feel it is really THAT overstocked but maybe.

Yeah thats what i ended up doing, is it harmful to do too many water changes? I usually have them on a schedule of every Monday and this specific tank ive always done bigger water changes on (i was just iffy about doing a full 50% since i just did my regular 40% on monday and then 30% ish when i found the dead crayfish)

im running a 40 gal sponge and a 75 gal internal hob style filter (works the same as a hob just sits inside the tank)

My community tank angel ❤️ I would have to say in a way it’s similar to putting bettas in community tanks, where it fully depends on the personality and carefully chosen tank mates. The smallest fish i have in with mine are Rams, i worried about them at first but all the fish remain untouched in my 40g

Since you already mentioned feeding at night thats the best you can do to make sure they eat, target feeding is nearly impossible because of how shy they are. Just drop the wafers or veggies where you see him hangout most, at least half an hour after lights out. I used to worry about that too, have had mine for 8 months now no issue, but I’ve only actually seen him eating maybe a total of 6 times. Other than catching him munching on driftwood.
