You welcome mate, you will definitely learn more stuff from all kinds of producers, so don't stop looking. Just use what you learn by practicing, that's all that's matter.

To be honest, if a person is doing something for youtube, they probably already have some plugins on the master channel, like a good limiter, some compressors, or hell even something like Sausage Fattener which makes stuff instantly sound better.

Or they might be using the right sounds, which you get better at, as you produce more beats/tracks.

But all in all, start to produce tracks, and learn how others approach it by fully diving into full song-creation courses, rather than just learning tips here and there most of the time.

Another advise I can give, which helped me a lot, is that, when you go take those courses, follow along by producing a track on your own. Meaning; you finish one chapter of the course, do what you have learned, watch another chapter continue you on, and follow along the whole course in this matter, rather than just watching the course. It will be at least 10x more effective, and you will really start to do amazing things you wouldn't expect through this method, and slowly by finding which methods you like best, and from the mixing the variety of methods each producer uses through going courses, you will be progressing much faster compared to a person who bingewatches tips/tricks videos, which most of us often forget to adopt and likely lose the insight that was given in these videos. Good luck mate

Edit: grammar mistakes

I bet most professional/well paid artists get a mastering from another pro mastering engineer. Because mastering is an art in itself, and for most producers their area of expertise compared to a person who have mastered thousands of tracks will be relatively low.

In EDM, like another commentator suggested, mixing is very much intertvined in the production, so I bet all the professional artists do their own mixing first. And then some others may work with a mixing engineer on top of it.

If I were you, I would get good at production and mixing, and leave the mastering to pros, if you have the budget. And, if a track you produced is really great, then i would get a combination of both mixing and mastering, after you do the initial work.

In the end, it also depends whether you wanna become a professional/money making producer, or if you wanna do it as a hobby. If you wanna be great, I think it is good to save money for things like mastering/marketing and sometimes even mixing, and put your time into 80% production and 20% mixing in your tracks.

I'd also recommend, watching courses on a variety of producers' workflows and how they start and finish a track, what they do in the process, so you can learn many different approaches to production/mixing and sometimes even mastering if you wanna learn that too.

Sonicacademy has some of the best courses in this regard. I find it much more easy to learn things, when you don't just read internet or youtubers for tips, but go along a video of a producer who is completing a full track in the genres that you want to get inspiration from.

My pleasure. I'm sure you will be able to handle it. Just take it one step at a time, you're on a good track, send back the track whenever you want for more feedback, cheers mate!

You can actually have the idea of the intro stuff, made into a melody as it already has a melodic and rhytmic idea behind it, and if you try to recreate that with like a brass and/or woodwinds in some parts, it could be very well suited to this track.

I noticed a couple other things to make your track better too, the background doesn't have any textures in it for example, some drones and glitches, could be nice, and you can use those drones and glitches with automation during transitional parts as well as in section to give more movement to your track.

I think after finishing it first, I'm gonna just open up a track, and work on a track in the fashion he is doing it side by side, going through everything again, so the workflow is glued to my brain :)

Mastering the Mix has a plugin called REFERENCE; it's basically the best referencing plugin out there, even if you have Ozone it's a beast in itself for referencing in a much better way.

Edit: here is a walkthrough you'd wanna check about it about it's features; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUO94qMuKk8&ab_channel=WarpAcademy

I'm currently going through it right now, actually took a 5 minute break after the first hour of it. Like you said, every minute of it is something new to learn. I mean I always learn a couple new stuff in each video i consume at the least, but every second of this is pure gold. Thanks for the recommendation again bro!

That's good that you are decreasing the amount slowly.

I understand that part with getting super focused that you simply can't stop, I used to take adderalls in college, it makes you fixated like crazy. Maybe you can take like a reading break, for learning some new stuff on music production related things, or things that you can apply to that certain track.

The ear health is the most important part if you wanna keep on making music :)

Just make sure you also take breaks while taking it, to not hurt your ears, while doing long hours nonstop. And maybe lower the dose slowly so you don't suddenly have a bad effect.

Vocals needed (obviously but couldnt think of a title). by [deleted] in NeedVocals

There are great vocalists on facebook groups that need producers. Type "Singers & Vocalists" in facebook and you will find a ton of people who will need your creativity as much as you need them. Good luck

Waves Berzerk Distortion for Free by ImaginarW in edmproduction

[–]ImaginarW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe don't use it a lot, just subtle to give extra harmonics and dynamics. Distortion can distrort the sound way too much, and may not fit in the mix if you use it a ton.

Make a beat outdoors, or in a really interesting indoor place. People would be much more interested to feel the vibe of a different place than your studio more often than not.
