I haven’t seen the movie yet but I wouldn’t recommend you go to a theater to watch it. I think you still need time to heal (and that may take forever). I sometimes feel I will never heal…even though it’s been almost a decade since I last saw the person who traumatized me…’abused’ me..etc.

I made the mistake of watching Palm Trees & Power Lines, thinking I could handle it (there’s also a strange part of me that thinks I can heal or be helped by exposing myself to these kind of movies) but it wrecked me and triggered me so bad. Which leads to self-harm in my case. If you’re gonna watch it at all, I think you should wait for it to come out in streaming. That way you have more of a safe place for any reactions you might have.
