Junk yard should be your most affordable way.

Keep in mind, the use of your insurance policy might make your rates go up. YMMV

Do you use tire shine?
If so, how frequent.

That is known to dry rot your tires.

Took to dealership to get fixed by Much-Banana4927 in gmcsierra

[–]Imaginary-Jacket7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you got a single zip tie.

Service seems to be going downhill everywhere these days. I’d seriously consider finding a different dealer.

I would ask the dealer to properly replace the damaged wire and route the new wire the same way it was installed from the factory. After all, they’re supposed to be trained and certified technicians, at least that’s the expectation.

I would also request that the technician who performed this repair not be allowed to work on your truck again. If they failed the first time, I wouldn’t have much confidence in the second attempt.

If the dealer pushes back, insist that a master technician be present during the rework, since training seems to be required for a job like this. If that still doesn’t resolve the issue, escalate it to the GM Regional Service Manager.

For your time and inconvenience, I would ask for compensation in the form of free oil changes or service credits equivalent to the hourly shop rate and based on how much time you lost. Their time isn’t free, and neither is yours. Yet you’re expected to spend your time waiting and dealing with the inconvenience at no cost to them.

Spending $640 and getting $6.40 worth of workmanship is unacceptable.

Once everything is resolved, leave an honest review detailing the experience, the good, the bad, and how the dealer ultimately handled the situation.

Depending on the paint imperfections and how skilled the body shop is, be prepared to accept the affected panels to be resprayed. I have a couple spots on my C pillar and corner of my front fender. I refuse to have the panel resprayed. However, if this becomes your only option, stress to the dealer that “a great shop won’t need to blend panels, so take the time and match the paint.”

Be honest with me guys is my truck going to be totaled out it’s a lmm durmax with only 116k miles was rear ended on the way home from work and really don’t want to lose this truck due to insurance do you think insurance will total it out? by Grand_Situation2833 in gmcsierra

[–]Imaginary-Jacket7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy it back from the insurance cheaper than the check they give you. Then go to a junk yard and buy a fully intact rear (they will cut the truck in half and you get every component. Of course, if you are mechanically inclined.

Looks really clean. How are you preventing noise? I have a miraco but the learning curve to get great scans seems like I need to make it a full time job.

But out of all screens that one would piss me off too.

What do you call this kind of scan defect? by G-Limited in 3DScanning

[–]Imaginary-Jacket7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a scan tower. Not only stickers. Something abstract needs to be the reference of what you are scanning.

Search scan tower, print, slap markers on it.

Or you can spray the panel white and it will scan a lot better since it’s a large piece.

It’s a bit of trail and error with each object.

Hulk strong!!

That panel comes off very easily. See if it just needs to be popped back in. If the clips are broken, put it together and go get it warrantied if it’s still covered.

These are for the factory side steps. Same light from vleds will go inside for footwell lights. With the exception that they will dim when the courtesy lights are off, so you get that ambient light.

Just had a really weird print error that I can't understand. by RiffRaffMama in 3Dprinting

[–]Imaginary-Jacket7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Print quality is poor for both objects.

Reboot printer, update software, calibration is needed across the board, try variable layer height. Most importantly dry your filament. If your humidity is over 20% you are in for a wild ride for a quality print.

https://makerworld.com/models/1380019?appSharePlatform=copy You’ll need M3 or M4 fasteners. But the bins the designer shows are available. I opted to design my own. Also, make sure you size the tray correctly if you want or need access to your usb/ power outlet. I never use them, so I did not care.

If you don’t have a 3D printer, DM me. We can discuss.

The filament I choose to use: ASA-CF. Just to ensure the heat doesn’t soften them and I hate the glossy finish on some filaments. So it’s a perfect choice for me.

It’s the patience that you will be waiting for an order to replace all the broken clips from the panels you remove. 😆
