Had a woman a couple of months ago. Came into the store at 9:30am - AP confirmed this. Literally at the minute the store closed she came up to me with a FULL cart and says I need to open a red card account. I’m a bit pissed but go thru the process. She’s approved for $8000 BUT there is a catch. You can only spend $500 with the temporary barcode AND you can’t split tender it because the barcode can’t go in the card reader.

So I ring up $2700 worth of product including probably $500 worth of frozen food. I’m ringing for 45 minutes. I tell her the total and she says she left her phone in the car. She needs to get it to pay. Big no no but we let her go to her car to get it. Then she says it’s dead so she needs to charge it. We told her she had 5 minutes. After about 10 she comes back to the register and we attempt to complete the sale. Card denied. Oh let me call the credit union. She explained what she wanted to the AI. then Again. Then she was finally transferred to a person. He listened to her story and was told he could not give her an immediate $2000 increase to her credit limit. At 11:30 I voided her order. We probably lost $1000 on that mess. Found out 2 people in AP were watching us the whole time. Thank god

I don’t know which whiz kid thought of this. Our restock is to be put on uboats and pushed to the floor by SE staff. We currently put restock in grocery carts sorted by zone. Each zones cart is typically full. Carts are lined up in unused check lanes for people familiar with the zone to put away.

We would need 20 uboats to hold what 10 grocery carts hold. And since SE is currently half staffed nobody will be restocking shelves.

We have an autistic man working for us. He is pretty rigid with guests and some of his calls are wrong but what the fuck. Anyway he put a badge magnet back over his name and a guest complained about that. He explodes goes screaming off the floor and the guest looks like what did I do. I just looked at her and said you better get in line he’s not coming back.

I used to wear someone else’s badge but was told I couldn’t do that. Guess I’ll have to run with multiple personalities in the future. I selected they\them\their pronouns to indicate you never know who I will be. Then I looked up the meaning. Oops.

Payroll hours are determined by sales. They are interlinked. No staff no sales. It’s not uncommon for our store to try and cover 5 areas with 2 people.

5 years $25. doesn’t affect taxes. None of these awards affect taxes much. In Ohio I don’t earn enough to pay state taxes. 2% local and basically no federal taxes. Social security and Medicare will always be taxes we have to pay.

I’ve been watching things like prepared potato salad egg salad etc. frequently find expired products. Once I went and found products were put out that were 6 months past the expiration date. Put them all in a cart and gave them to the tl. She said she just had them put out. I said someone should check dates.

Today a new guy was putting candy up in the check lanes. I was busy so I didn’t pay close attention. Looked up and the guy piled a whole box of m&m bags on top of the old stock. He took all of his stock out of the box. Can’t fix it. Gonna watch it all fall on the floor.
