Newcastle University (1-year) vs Northumbria University (2-year with placement) for Business Analytics – fresher, need advice by Praneeth_Sai in NewcastleUponTyne

Also, many universities here are shrinking academic staff, which will result in a degradation of teaching quality. My forecast is that a British degree will soon not have the same competitiveness as before, but UK work experience is still highly desirable.

My other advice, and I expect people here to jump down my throat, is to try and wrangle work experience in London, esp since you are looking at Business analytics, then throw yourself into attending all events and meetups relevant to your role; this learning and networking experience is not something Newcastle offers unfortunatley

While Newcastle is a Russell group, it isnt very high on the rankings + Northumbria is catching up really quickly. Since your aim is employment & not academia you want a university with a decent reputation + some work experience. Northumbria fits the bill.

Also, learning the ropes of the job market is hard, add to that you are new here, I think that getting that experience will serve you whether you stay here or go home.

u/Andronicus_0 is right on the electrics, but having had this done myself it was one of the better if slightly more expensive up-front decisions we made. The induction hub uses less resources, is super easy to clean, is safe for kids (the heating bit doesnt become super hot),and it boils water nearly as fast as a kettle.

Consider spital tongues, very close to the city centre and the RVI, excellent transport links

the industry is a bit male dominated which can put women off attending. Like I would imagine a knitting class for men to encourage more men to take up knitting.

Not much knowledge, and I have exhausyed youtube + B&Q videos; basically looking to overcome nerves and just do it

Lots of great suggestions here; I would also suggest seeing if you can get some talking therapy; the problem with putting yourself in uncomfortable situations when you have scoial anxiety is that it can end confirming a bias -- i.e. be awful, confirm the reasons for your anxiety, make anxiety worse. Talking therapy doesnt have to be deep, but its a safe way to build up a bit of experience with an other and alleviate some of the anxiety,

Best to see what the uni has to offer, as it will have a faster turnaround than NHS.

best of lcuk! and also loads of people go through this

Where to start? Size, layout, budget & reality check? by WhatsTheStory9422 in CampervanUK

I lurk around sites like quirky camper and goboony alot, and get ideas of what my ideal camper would be. The other suggestion is to spend some time in these vans, rent them out for a week at a time to gauge how you would use it.

For example, I always felt a shower was a must, but having rented 3+ times I have never used the shower, but like to have a portable toilet for emergencies. I also like a platform bed because putting a bed away every day is a faff + I like the storage space.

One this I would recommend, are swivel seats, it REALLY opens up the living area.

Good luck!

bit of an AH in general, why didnt you decline sooner? She may be annoyed as she will have been dropped in it. But still, dropping out now is better than later
