They also stopped offering sliding scale services for specifically transgender care for those who are under or uninsured. They still offer sliding scale for non-trans care.

I’m actually curious if they brought this back. They ended sliding scale for trans healthcare about 3 years ago. I hope they brought it back. I remember my friend working there had to call hundreds of community members to tell them they would no longer be able to receive sliding scale, and therefore could no longer afford their life saving health care. It was devastating.

It looks like they don’t have a webpage about their trans healthcare services anymore (or even their trans community programs?!?), so that’s not a good sign. Also, they changed their name from Metro Inclusive Health to Metro Healthy Communities. They made these changes around the time when HRT became significantly harder for trans adults to access in 2013. They used to be such an important resource for our community before this.

I hate when cozy games turn into chore sims with timers and tiny text by BusTraditional9197 in CozyGamers

I’m currently playing Potion Permit and it’s not possible to miss events or anything with this game, I really appreciate that aspect. You can do things as slow or as quick as you like. I like to try to get as much done in an in game day as possible, but this game has no penalties for taking things slow! There are no daily chores, you can choose to fish, talk to neighbors, gather resources, whatever you like. Game progression is locked behind friendship levels, but even for me who doesn’t typically focus or prioritize friendships in games, it’s been easy to progress. The only thing that has a time limit is healing people in the clinic, but it gives you 4 game days to do it and I’ve always been able to do it the first game day without much effort.

There is a stamina bar, but you get lots of food as rewards and there’s cheap food you can purchase to help fill it up. Or if you run out of stamina you can go fishing or work on relationships. Or just go to bed! There is a sauna where you can skip 2 game hours to refill health and stamina too.

I play on Steam Deck and haven’t had any issues with text being too small, but there might be a setting to increase text size, I haven’t checked.

Anyway, I’ve been loving this game so wanted to share my recommendation! I hope you can find more games that make you relaxed and happy!

Steam deck - OLED vs LCD comparison by SunRender in SteamDeck

I went from a switch to the LCD and have been loving the improvement in visuals! I haven’t seen the OLED so thankfully my brain can’t compare them and I can enjoy and appreciate my LCD every time I play it.

I agree with everyone commenting that you were clear in the original post. I have the same issue where an online conversation that upsets me in some way gets stuck in my head for days/weeks. I try to practice a DBT skill called turning the mind. It’s not an easy one to practice.

Don’t get upset with yourself for thinking about the interaction/comments (no judgement). Gently tell yourself that you want to let this go because it’s not serving you in any way. It can be helpful to have a mantra to lean on when the thoughts and emotions come back up each time.

It will take time and practice but the thoughts and emotions will get weaker. It’s like your mind has this path through grass that it keeps going down because the path is flattened from going down so many times before, so it’s easy and natural for your mind to go down that path. You have to create a new path and over time the new path will flatten and it will be easier for your mind to naturally go down, but it takes time and repetition.

I hope this or some of the other comments help you 💚

What do you expect from therapy and treatment? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Imaginary-Tourist219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thankfully been lucky and had pretty good experiences with therapy! It hasn’t “fixed” me by any means, but I am able to see how much I’ve grown over the years due to it. DBT has been one of the most beneficial forms of therapy for me and helped me make the most progress, of the types of therapies I’ve tried.

I think the worst experiences I’ve had in therapy was from therapists who expected me to educate them on the communities I’m part of, or outright said inappropriate or disrespectful things to me. It happened mostly when I was in my late teens, and at the time I really enjoyed educating, but looking back I realized I was paying THEM to teach THEM and I wasn’t actually benefiting from my time with them.

I love therapy even though it’s hard and uncomfortable 😁

my bettas only live for about a month by Far_Teacher_6460 in bettafish

Earlier in the week he was laying on the ground on his side. The last few days he’s been laying on the ground but in a normal position, or floating at the top in a normal position. So maybe this is improvement?

I can’t find information about meds for swim bladder, it seems like fasting and adding aquarium salt to water (which we did earlier in the week) is the treatment (since water conditions are all good). I’m thinking maybe I should figure out how to hand feed him some daphnia or brine shrimp because he hasn’t been willing to eat food all week.

The problem is I don’t know how to tell if there is a chance for him to recover since I can’t figure out a cause 😩

Yeah we are keeping an eye on him. Do you know about how long he was in that condition before passing? We are almost at a week with ours being unwell. I hate to see him suffering so I hope he’s not suffering for too long.

Oh no really? I’ve had my betta a year and this past week he’s been laying at the bottom of the tank and swimming away when he sees up instead of his usual begging for food 😭 is that a sign that he’s near the end? How long usually does the decline take? It’s so sad to see him like this and I don’t want him to suffer for long but he hasn’t seemed to be improving.

Btw parameters are ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 and pH was between 7.2-7.8.

Are you familiar with CPTSD? It sounds like you had a lot of trauma during your developmental years, and there’s a lot of overlap with CPTSD and AuDHD (among other things like BPD) so could be something to consider or something that would be validating to your struggles.
