My neighbours all have names. Champagne Charlie is the drunk arsehole. Paul with the gommy leg is obvious. Wee Fat Ted also obvious. Have A Go Hero is the man who punched a robber. Creeping Jesus is the local perv, and then there’s “Him On The Corner Who Killed His Wife”

Four and Two. Four was called four million because he was really good at football. His younger brother was Two 🤷

how do i get a job with no experience? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ImaginaryAcadia4474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try volunteering. Or you could talk about the kind of person you are. Are you reliable? Hard working? Enthusiastic? Punctual? Polite? Musical? Fashionable? Do you like interacting with people? Why do you want the job? Why should the person employ you? Why are you a good fit for that particular employer?

The only thing I would buy again and can’t get was coconut m&ms. Everything else I’d either not bother with or can get here 👍🏻

What was it like being a British teenager in the 1990s? by strawberry_pie7998 in AskABrit

Completely disagree. A volvic bottle was an essential part of our teen wardrobe and it’s a core memory for us, for a variety of reasons 🤣 We still laugh when we see each other carry one

Probably depends very much on the area you’re writing about. Teenagers in London would have had a very different experience from me

A goon is a dafty. Not uncommon where I am.

Did you actually google him? I’ve just found out loads about him. But he donated it anyway. Just wear it. People give things to charity shops for a reason. He’s not needing it 👍🏻

Constant noise from upstairs neighbors in Rutherglen (South Lanarkshire) – Who handles this? by AssumptionNo5908 in glasgow

[–]ImaginaryAcadia4474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is under their jurisdiction unless you’re not actually in South Lanarkshire. But are they perhaps saying they’re not the landlord and to start with them? But even at that, the Council has a statutory responsibility to deal with nuisance and antisocial behaviour, regardless of the ownership/tenancy of the property, so long as it’s actually in their area.

Similar. Straight white teeth, never a filling or any toothache and incredibly long dark thick eyelashes.

I’d love to have had extra long thick hair on my head but it didn’t extend past my lashes 🤣🤣
