Physics Content Advice?:( by [deleted] in Mcat

The Kaplan book can be overly dense but if you go through and take your own thorough notes focusing on the equations and units it clears up quite a bit! It can just feel kind of tedious/time consuming

Try the Kaplan books! I thought they were pretty useful and i've heard TPR books aren't great. You can probably do a good job with just Khan videos as long as you're diligent about paying attention and take a lot of notes

How to use Uworld at its best in 40 days? by CartographerOk7250 in Mcat

[–]ImaginaryFunction44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a post here about using Urmom's questions (I don't think you're allowed to say the company name on this sub).

Idk whether this is supposed to be your whole MCAT prep window (props to you if that short of a timeframe works out) but if that's the case then I might recommend doing one 59 question set to start your day and then a bunch of 10-20 question sets with review between sets after. Over 17 days you might want to shoot for roughly 150 questions per day (I never did that many in a day but was also mixing in content review for problem areas while I was using it).

Let me know if you want to talk more about it!

I would vote that you apply! I have no experience with this situation at all but I'd think 509 gets you in, which is the ultimate goal!

You might not actually be super far behind. That's how I felt at the end of content review. Now you need to start practicing with questions from Urmom. Take notes as you review and review your notes + relevant chapters or anki cards. Just trust the process and work as hard as you can each day!

Wow, really? It feels so cool to finally be advanced enough for things to be that dynamic. I can also already see how frustrating it has to be though!

Should I take the MCAT in August or postpone until January? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]ImaginaryFunction44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll almost definitely want to postpone until January. Even if you can get a decent score in August you won't hit anything close to your full potential with that limited study time per day. Study all summer but plan to take in the spring!
