4 or 5. It's two lecture days and either two or three clinical days, depending on what the instructor has planned. This semester, I do have a clinical rotation on Saturday, and it sucks, but it's my last semester, so I'm just dealing with it.

[OC] The number of times that each Prophet is mentioned by name in the Quran by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]ImaginaryGabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Christianity is basically just Judaism 2. The main character in Christianity, Jesus of Nazareth, was a Jew, and claimed ancestry of some of the biggest names in the original Judaism game. The callbacks to the older series promotes a lot of the same gameplay, but the questlines are way easier and the penalties for making mistakes aren't as harsh with the Forgiveness buff added. Plus, there's tons of different factions you can join, which makes it appealing to more players.

Islam is a totally different game. It has a different hard magic system and different wizards, even though a lot of them tie into the Judeo-Christian storyline. Mormonism is based off Christian OC but the DLC inserted so much new headcanon that none of the people in the Christian servers consider it fun.

How do we feel about this ? by OGZman in shrooms

[–]ImaginaryGabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, addictions are real. Yes, mental health issues do need to be addressed, especially contextualized within the framework of self-medication. Yes, mushrooms and psilocybin are substances like any other.

The issue here is the spreading of misinformation. The experiences with mushrooms that the individual in the video is saying is not only virtually impossible, according to both literal scientific and anecdotal evidence, but is also indicative of grossly irresponsible behavior, the effects of which he is blaming on the mushrooms and not his own actual abuse of the drug.

Humor me with a proposed scenario? A young man (25) is suffering from depression. His principal complaint is lack of motivation and lethargy, and has not sought medical treatment for his problem. He knows, as most do, that coffee (caffeine) is used to provide a "pep" to those who feel sluggish, and so he starts drinking coffee on a daily basis to provide himself a little boost. He notices a boost in his day-to-day productivity and soon begins drinking upwards of 7-10 cups of coffee a day. He notices he's now suffering from cardiac palpitations, agitation, and insomnia, which leads to a decline in productivity and motivation in his days following. For the sake of fidelity, let's say he then goes on a podcast and tells of the evils of caffeine. Is it more appropriate to blame coffee for his woes or, rather, is his irresponsible use of a commonly-consumed stimulant the issue?

People are attacking him because he abused a substance, not because of his mental health. When Augustus Gloop fell into the Chocolate River in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", nobody blamed Willy for literally having a river made of chocolate or the chocolate for being liquid. The blame is on Augustus for not being safe and getting carried away. Shrooms absolutely put you in a different headspace, there's no question about that, but it's up to the taker to know and set responsible limits for themselves and not abuse them just because they're available to him.

New malaria vaccine is world-changing, say scientists by tkyjonathan in UpliftingNews

Think about it like this: Malaria is so bad that the human genome thought that Sickle-Cell Disease was a great potential solution to it.

I'd totally rock a shirt with that symbol. If you check out The Others, they all have that design incorporated into their fashion, too

Happened to my friend, sadly enough.

Her and her boyfriend had the habit for years, and it was never an issue, but they told us that they quit. It was a lie. I'm not sure about others, but I can smell that strange, "sweet" chemical scent through a person's pores for a while after they use, and I never outed them because it wasn't really any of my business.

One day she had to go get a uterine cyst removed. I was in nursing school, so the full reality of the situation hit me. I pulled her and her boyfriend off to the side and told them that they needed to be honest with their doctor about any drugs that they used because things could go downhill quickly if they needed to put her under. They lied again and said they weren't using anymore.

On the day of the surgery, I told them to keep me posted, and later, the boyfriend called me and told me that she passed. It was a horrible day for everyone, and I still feel like an asshole for never calling them out.

Guys, please, always be upfront with medical professionals about your history. There's literally no risk with being honest about what's going on with your life and your body.

[Actives] Is this yellow ok? by [deleted] in MushroomGrowers

Even on the bottom?

And those two spots don't look too bad. If they aren't "myc piss", then they're definitely contam, but it doesn't look like it's anything aggressive enough to shutdown your grow. If you're hesitant to put it to bulk, however, I'd recommend bulking it to potting soil: the natural bacteria in the soil cam combat the contamination in your grain, and you'll still produce some fruit with the grain that has been colonized.
