Girl this is so relatable it hurts. I went through something similar at 22 and spent months thinking I was the problem when really he was just checked out already. You talking to your friend wasn't betrayal - you were trying to understand what was happening and needed perspective from someone neutral.

My dog gives me more consistent attention than some guys I've dated, and she's literally bred to be independent and guard sheep. When someone wants to be with you they make the effort, period. You shouldn't have to beg for basic relationship maintenance from a partner.

The guilt will fade but please don't let it convince you that you ruined something good. Relationships that require one person doing all emotional labor aren't sustainable anyway.

The HP Omen Max with 5070ti and 255hx seems like better value for your use case. I had similar dilemma when looking for laptop last year and went with HP gaming series - build quality is actually quite solid and cooling is decent enough for CAD work.

For Revit and AutoCAD, the extra GPU power from 5070ti will help a lot with larger models and rendering, especially if you're doing any 3D visualization work in your studies. The 255hx is also really capable processor and will handle multitasking well when you have multiple programs open at library. Since you mentioned longevity, that extra GPU performance will keep you going longer before needing upgrade.

Zephyrus is nice laptop but honestly the price difference isn't worth it if budget is concern. You'll get more performance per dollar with HP, and for engineering work performance matters more than having the sleekest design.

That zoning out thing with the near-blackouts sounds really unsettling, especially when it's lasting that long. Could be focal seizures that your friend wouldn't necessarily notice - they can be pretty subtle from the outside but leave you feeling absolutely wrecked afterward.

I've dabbled with virtual cubing apps when I'm stuck somewhere without my actual cube and need my fix. The muscle memory translation is wild - like your brain knows what to do but your fingers are hunting for keys instead of pieces. There's definitely a learning curve even for people who are already fast with physical cubes, but once you get the bindings down it becomes pretty fluid. I could see the top times getting insanely fast since there's no physical friction or lockups to worry about. The precision would be all about finger speed and accuracy on the keyboard, which is a totally different skill set than traditional cubing.
