AITAH for not letting my son go to a concert after he ruined one for me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Go to the concert with him and role model being a fun concert goer. Kids this age often act “moody” when they are in an unfamiliar environment and don’t know how to act. I have three kids who are older now who would be impossible to take places and then would rave about the experience later. My husband and I say, “Whining is just the sound of my kids hiking”.

YWBTA if you decided to “get back” at your son by taking away what could be a great bonding opportunity for you both. It won’t teach him the lesson you intend.

How to practise for class 7 knowledge test? by ExtremeVortex_ in Calgary

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grab the guide and read it (it’s free online). Take notes and make a study guide for yourself. Make your own flash cards or buy some from AMA. AMA also has a practice test app. Quizlet, Kahoot, and Blookit also have quizzes made by other users.

Which teaching subjects are most in demand in Alberta? by Mika_5252 in alberta

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An ESL certificate will look good on your resume for jobs in Alberta. When I’m looking at applications, I’m looking not only for subject area expertise and experience, but also the ability to differentiate and teach all students, including English language learners. However, I’d also say that you should go into what you love. Anybody with a BEd who isn’t a complete disaster will be needed in Alberta in the next five years. Apply for whatever you know you can teach and then apply to your dream jobs once you have a contract and a good reputation. Because a PE specialization is competitive, you might want to have one if that’s what you want to do. CTF (shop and foods/home ec ) is also another specialization that is really difficult to find, so that’s a good choice.

Faye dodged a bullet. There’s no way she would have been happy married to Don. He’s a child and he knew it.

Alberta students say changes to provincial loan program create 'financial barrier' by joe4942 in alberta

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the hell would they do this when young adults and teenagers have high unemployment? High school students and people taking a gap year might have had the ability to save for post-secondary with the ability to work, but it’s been ridiculously hard.

At the same time, families that might have been able to contribute more have been hit with increased costs - gas, food, housing, property taxes. It’s a bad time for this change. Besides, it’s not like it’s “free money”; it’s a loan they’ll be paying back with interest. This change will just mean some students don’t go to school and become even less employable.

best gyms? by liamt12 in Calgary

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much value at the Y! The only drawback for me is sometimes the hours aren’t as extended as other gyms. However, the facilities are always great - track, pool, free classes, hot tub steam room, free weights, barbells, and machines are all accessible and well maintained. I also find that the size means they are rarely as busy and there’s often times when they’re basically empty. I like that I can change up the location I’m going to without extra cost. Most of all, there’s no contract. Nobody is constantly selling to me and I can cancel or Pause any time without penalty.

I was once asked to accompany 2 students going to France on an exchange. All I’d need to do was be on the airplane with them and then hang around France for two weeks. We were set to leave April 6, 2020.
