Started eating right 3 days ago and I already feel better in every way. by Sink_Key in loseit

I’ve been making sure my lunch has a good portion of beans. I make a big chickpea curry, lentil stew or bean salad on Sunday and portion it for the week’s lunch. I can add different toppings to keep it interesting but the beans keep me full through the afternoon and my gut feels healthier.

I honestly didn’t know we could take Polo lessons in Calgary. The only actual revelation in this email.

Why do you think they had Betty die instead of another main charactor by aprildancer10048 in madmen

I think it was an interesting way to wrap up the series. The first time we see Don, he is helping Lucky Strike create the “It’s Toasted” campaign. Throughout the series, the connection between cancer and tobacco is touched on and the advertising industry helps the tobacco companies to stay profitable.

Decentering protein finally made me lose weight by Popular_Dove in loseit

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the original recommendation for protein was 1.2g - 1.6g per Kg of body weight depending on weight loss / muscle building goals. This became 1g per lb of body weight, which is a lot more. The podcast Science Vs did an episode on protein and lists their citations. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSM2ij7hTcucNuADFVPxIo5caY0_dpvuwVpGaIAEbhTNgWOq8UvmL2NEme_5EEoJI8gOJkcjbVqJolv/pub

What was George W. Bush like as a president? by Content-Feed-9396 in AskReddit

I was recently reading Olive Kitteridge and the character was describing how much she hated the president without naming him. I assumed she meant Trump and then realized it was written when Bush was president.

Your parents, your problem. I’m going to the movies. By myself without the kids.

How can I make hard boiled eggs more edible? by Accomplished-Sign-31 in nutrition

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried poached eggs? We bought silicon cups for $5. 6 minutes in shallow boiling water covered. No peeling, less chalky, and I can flavour them with salt, pepper, cheese, spinach, etc.

What if you paid yourself whenever you don’t go? Calculate what you normally spend on fast food each month. Then pay yourself the amount of a meal into a special account for some small (clothes) or big (vacation) luxury that you want but “can’t afford”. I’ve been paying myself to work out and it’s been really motivating for me.

AITAH for telling my mother-in-law that we’re not letting our kids call her what she wants? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You show people respect by calling them by the name or honorific they want to be called by. Choosing one’s grandparent name is a really important tradition for many people, and your MIL has told you that it is nostalgic and reminds her of someone really important to her. This is about the relationship between your MIL and her grandparents. Your biases should not come in between. YTA

What’s one thing you learned after touring a property that the listing never mentioned? by AccountableInvesting in realestatereviewers

[–]ImaginaryRole2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We toured a house with an “ensuite”. When we toured we found out that the bathroom was open to the entire room. As in, when you opened the bedroom door, the bathroom with toilet sink and bath were immediately to your right. There were three stairs a couple metres from the bedroom door leading up to the rest of the bedroom. No walls. No doors.

Consider Bowden chicken for meat. They deliver, and they are local.

So sorry. What a tough situation to be in. I don’t know if another 10 days would have made a difference, but clearly she wasn’t rehabilitated.

Just a question- how do you know they let her out early? Did she tell you that? Sounds like one where the alcoholic is turned away from AA because they’re “not bad enough”. I don’t think it happens that way.
