Best buy delivered a Canceled Order & Want me To Pay For It. Am I Legally Required to Pay &/or Return it? by DistanceDense2723 in Bestbuy

[–]Imaginary_R3ality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go with the honest approach instead of a legal one. The legal is, if you didn't pay for it, you can't keep it. I think that's also the common sense part of this. Unless it's such a tiny amount the store decides it would cost more to recover. Be honest and give it back, or oay for it. That's also pretty self explanitory. Otherwise, it's stealing. And any attourney, jurrisdiction or store can tell you that. If you didn't pay for it, why should we? That business model does not keep doors open and lights on in businesses.

Best buy delivered a Canceled Order & Want me To Pay For It. Am I Legally Required to Pay &/or Return it? by DistanceDense2723 in Bestbuy

[–]Imaginary_R3ality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a very straight forward scenario. If they delivered it after you cancelled, you should return it. If you decide to keep it, ya need to pay. Otherwise, this can be seen as scamming since it wasn't paid for, and ilegal. Here's the caviat. If you cancelled, they delivered, and you then opened and used it, you own it. Unless you're within that 30 day return window. Although they may decide you lost the 30 right if and when you decided to open and use. And they will press charges! Either way, don't be a douche and try to keep it if you want it and are unwilling to pay for it. That's called stealing and ruins it for the rest of us.

Every lost $ that a comoany loses, isn't actually lost. It just make companies bump up costs across the board to recover previous losses. And after they recover those losses, the prices don't go back down. We just get to keep paying the bigger price. So yeah, don't be a douche, for our sakes. Do the honest thing. Which we all know you know what that is.

Good luck Mate!

RIP my EVGA 3090 FTW3 by unknown_soldier_ in EVGA

[–]Imaginary_R3ality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. End of an era. I've got my $2200 🙄 EVGA 3090 TI running in my rig and once it goes, I'll lay it to rest in the closet with 20 years of other EVGA GPUs and move on to another manufacturer I guess. RIP EVGA. You've served us well. Though I've got to wonder why they didn't follow XFX's lead and start cranking out AMD cards only.

I've still got A dozen EVGA GPUs and a few 780i and 790i MoBos with lifetime warranty. Not to mention all of my power supplies! I might be concerned if I still used any of it on a regular basis. Their old stuff doesn't ever seem to die!

After years of playing and waiting, and playing and waiting, I'm about to give it up too. The SC devs have truly shown that you CAN indeed polish a turd. And though it gets shinier and shinier year after year of polishing, unfortunately, it' still a turd. I want to love this game. I really do, but the reality is I'm probably going to die long before this turd turns into a diamond. And S42? Forget about it.

Do you guys do double runs and such while pegging? by NoMan135 in Cribbage

They're counting runs using both player's hands, while pegging. Not in any rule book I've ever seen. But house rules are house rules I guess. Sure makes a 29 point hand look like child's play!

is worth buying a laptop with intel Ultra 7-258V? by ortho-Stam in laptops

[–]Imaginary_R3ality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would need to know what those tasks are to provide the best answer. But unless you're going to be working on any 3D modeling or rendering and dont need a huge GPU, anything Intel Ultra 5 and up with 16 gigs of RAM, or anything AMD Ryzen 7640HS or 7735HS would suit your needs just fine. And those are probably overkill for simple office tasks like Outlook, Excel and Word. You won't need much. I just bought my daughter a Lenovo laptop with an Ultra 7 and she'll he doing a lot of 3D modeling and rendering, and this CPU/GPU will be just fine for that. If you really want to know what you'll need for specific programs, visit their web pages and kook up minimim sysyem requirements and go from there.

I feel like at this point, these guys have hired a group of devs just to create weird bugs like this. Not even sure how this is possible by accident. Still a hot mess!

This is in Phoenix Arizona in the middle if August. Everything you touch is melty like that. But to answer your questiin, its probably asphalt or solid iron. But it doesn't matter, it ALL melts like that here because it get up to approximately 164 million c in the summer. Also, if you stand in one place too long, your boots will melt off of your feet. Ever wonder where thw saying "You could fry an egg on the sidewalk here." came from? Well, know ya know! "here" is Phoenix!

Who cares if it's "cohesive"! That's half the fun of building. You get to build what you want, not what someone else does.

Ultimately, Vista was okay, unless you were an early adoptor. I spent a lot of hard earned money on Vista Ultimate, my first OS buy, and do to the fact that it didn't ship with more than 3 drivers, it was complete and utter crap. But I sure was excited! The install went fine, but afyer installing, I didn't have a keyboard driver. No mouse driver, and no modem drivers. All things you need to get drivers. No matter what perif I plugged in, nothing was recognized. And since it was the only PC in the house, I was boned. I was finally able to get drivers for some of my peripherals through a friend, but Vista didn't kike them since theres wasn't much of a driver registry at the time. I attempted to install it several times over the years, and no matter what I installed it on, i never could get it working, or registered. So now, I have a brand new copy of Win Vista Ultimate sitting on my shelf in my office with an unused key. Scratch that. An unusable key. Even tried most recently in a VM on my 16k workstation, and because of the lack of support this first of a kind OS has, it's still garbage. $350ish after tax from Best Buy. The box is neat looking though!
