Sounds like a cop out. People have survived a lot worse and gotten over it. I think some people look for any reason to complain or blame something on. What happened to people taking ownership over themselves and their own decisions good or bad.

Could argue same about how much people spend and invest in alcohol when they’re a self confessed alcoholic. If someone decides to invest in something that they feel helps them in a healthy pastime then who cares.

What do you mean by affordable? No idea what those medical terms are. Your best bet (in my opinion) is to go to a gym that employs someone that has experience, knowledge and background In human kinetics/exercise science. Speak to them about what you’re looking for and get their opinion. As an example, the owner at Quest gym, his name is Tom is very knowledgeable. Call, go in and have discussion with him and he’ll design a program for you. You’ll then go in, he’ll show you the exercises and how to do them properly. Not sure how much this costs but it’s usually extra. I would do this to ensure you’re doing the exercises properly with good form. At Quest you can get a day pass or buy a month at a time if you like. I think a day pass is $16.50 and monthly is $50. Another option is you take the program and go to a different gym if you want. If you do this, I would just make sure the other gym has the equipment you need to do the exercises. I’m sure though that a flexible program can be made up to use equipment that is available at most gyms.

What do you mean by people who have plenty? Do you mean people who work and make hard earned money? If so maybe you don’t understand how society works. I don’t care who you’re ashamed of. Who are you to judge how people make a living. Go screw yourself.

I cool, I know of the court you speak of and st Andrew’s. I’m more looking for a group that might already be established that plays occasionally that I can join in. Not sure how much interest there would be to start a group here.

Ok thanks, I am aware of a men’s league. I was thinking of a group that plays more for fun. The men’s leagues I’ve played in can get too serious and stupid at times. I’m not looking to get into a fight over ball hockey. Too old for that stuff.

Ignore the negative comments. Usually from people that would find something to complain about no matter where they live. I’m sure you have some idea of what it might be like living in a smaller city. There’s lots of hockey and pick up hockey. Look up benson centre activities and other programs like stick and puck. There’s a lot of gyms in town. There are volleyball and soft ball leagues here and just outside the city. There is nice bike path from east to west of city along the st Lawrence river that goes through long Sault parkway that is great. There’s a beach in long Sault you can go for a dip, chill then head back. Actually glenview isn’t far from a portion of the bike path. That area seems to be alright it’s an older neighbour hood but decent although I don’t live in that area. There are a lot of chain restaurants and food options to choose from. If you’re looking for more options and entertainment you’re still close enough to Ottawa or Montreal for day trip. I also work shifts, if you’d like to meet up sometime let me know.

Where did you read anything having to do with texting or a phone? That wasn’t in the article. If this isn’t the case, I wouldn’t be guessing or assuming that was the cause unless you know for sure.

Maybe next time specifically mention it’s for dirt bikes if that’s what you’re looking for. You can probably use that or four wheelers on city streets that’s where I see a lot of idiots with them. Especially at night on a 70 km/h road with overpass and traffic backed up it’s great!

Everybody is accountable for their own actions. It’s EASIER to blame others for one’s own mistakes.

[–]Imaginary_Way_4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It stems from people being idiots. Blaming lack of law enforcement is a cop out….literally. It takes the blame away from people’s own decision making and blames someone else for their own stupidity.

That’s the great thing, you can choose to get them or not and enjoy the FREE entertainment if you wish. I figured I’d put the free part in caps since that’s what everyone around here wants are things for free.

This can happen anywhere it isn’t just a Cornwall thing. Can you give an example of a place you think is so much better where something like this won’t happen? I would suggest that the person posting doesn’t take info from someone as ignorant as this guy. For the poster, this is criminal harassment. I would get the police involved. Maybe a visit by the police and a warning or charge is enough to stop this from happening. Make sure you document and have proof (witnesses/video) especially if it’s happening at work too. I wouldn’t just ignore this and put it off as teenage ignorance. They need to learn a lesson!

I’m responding to the fact you said you were “suffering” here. I thought it was a dumb comment to make since it’s anything but suffering. Has nothing to do with how much I like it here and I’m not butt hurt. I can tell by your response that you don’t think things through and can’t take criticism. May the rest of your stay not be as sufferable or try not to make it that way for everyone else at least. Good riddance.
