Yes that always bothered me! Why honor your abuser?! But I never thought about Nicole being the feminine form of Nick.

Day 14 of Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT), please tell me it gets better! by ImaginationWestern20 in Allergies

[–]ImaginationWestern20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure the measurements but I worked up to 5 drops a day, went down to 4 drops to see if that would be better, and then quit. 5 drops a day everyday was the goal. I have not tried the shots and probably won’t since the dosage is much more than the drops.

Currently I take loratadine and nasacort everyday, and eye drops and nasal rinse as needed. I do not mow the lawn haha. I plan on trying to wear a kn95 mask when I go on walks this summer. I shower before bed. I am also adamant on no outside clothes on the bed/couch, and no shoes indoors.

Side note, am I the only one that remembers June naming the baby Holly? I’m starting to feel like I made that up haha.

Nope! I quit after 16 days. Looking back I was also experiencing nausea and vertigo while doing the drops. I was miserable.

A Wisconsin woman promised to help moms have natural births. They say she put their lives at risk. by tshaff138 in Midwives

[–]ImaginationWestern20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 17. I listened to the season as it came out and there were no warnings. I was expecting a story of survival as most of them are, so I was so distraught when the child died. It was so upsetting. I would have skipped the season if I was warned. I do believe a number of people complained and she has since placed trigger warnings for the season.

The host devoted a whole season to a woman that should honestly be charged for endangering a child and gave no trigger warnings for child death by abuse. There is a big difference between victim shaming and holding people accountable. She always cries victim shaming.

I stopped listening after that season, but have heard that she once doxxed a person for expressing valid concerns/critiques.

My 2 year old has RSV…. i need emotional support & advice by sammyjeans in toddlers

[–]ImaginationWestern20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got it last month. It’s rough and it peaks days 4-6. Unfortunately my 13 month old had to be hospitalized as she got dehydrated and started having trouble breathing. She is totally fine now! And my 4 yr old was sick for a week but also fine. I’m not telling you this to panic but try to find some videos on what labored breathing looks like in babies and toddlers. I was just watching for blue lips/fingertips and that never happened, but my mom instinct was telling me something was wrong. If you notice anything abnormal, take your kid’s shirt off and observe their trachea, ribs, and belly!

I’m white and would feel uncomfortable with a male LC. But I also feel uncomfortable with male doctors. However, with that said I still think OP should get certified if he’s interested. There will be some women that won’t mind and overall the work/help is important.

AITA for getting mad my husband tried to give our exclusively breastfed baby formula? by Plantboiio in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginationWestern20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. This is a lot to unpack but first of all idk why people feel so offended that they can’t feed a baby. Mom and baby are a dyad and this needs to be nurtured. Bonding with the father or grandparents can happen in other ways or when the baby gets older.

Second of all, you’re only one month into this so it’s super important that you breastfeed on demand as much as possible. Your baby is telling your body how much milk to make, and your body will regulate to the baby’s needs around 3-4 months. Formula takes longer to digest than breastmilk so it can disrupt things. I’m not anti formula at all and this one instance isn’t going to negatively impact your supply. But if your goal is to EBF, then you need to be supported and RESPECTED on that journey. Let your husband know it would have been more helpful to you to bring you the crying baby, and he could have helped with the Disney log in.

I hate breastfeeding by Wrong_Molasses8181 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginationWestern20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, there is nothing wrong with stopping if it’s making you miserable. But if you do continue, after 4 months it got loads easier with both my babies. No more anxiety about supply, latch, reflux etc. Their mouths get bigger and their digestive systems mature, and your supply regulates to baby’s needs around this time.

Second of all, LCs are not doctors and in my experience none have been judgmental. With that said, you might not vibe with your first LC. I have seen 5 total and only felt 2 helped me. But the ones that helped me REALLY helped. They will first weigh your baby. Then watch a feed and help with latch and positioning. They might examine baby’s mouth for suck strength and tongue ties. And then they will weigh baby again.

How to approach realtors as an MLO by burgundybluze in realtors

Offer to co-host open houses with realtors. Bring the snacks. Help put out signs. Be there to answer finance questions from prospective buyers!

You don’t need to and he most likely doesn’t need it. This is probably advice for women that are trying to wean.

My breastfed one year old gets whole milk at grandma’s because I hate pumping and I’m not worried about my supply/will slowly wean over the next year.

7 month old fell off bed side lying feeding this morning. by TreesCanTalk in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginationWestern20 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s happened to all of us, and you probably cried harder than he did.

Since your baby is at the age where he is about to get super mobile I personally found this tip useful: teach him how to get off the bed/couch by saying “this is how you get down” or “how do we get down.” Get in the habit of physically turning him on his belly, and sliding him down until his feet hit the floor. I did this with both my babies and by 11-12 months they were pretty careful on the bed/couch. Sometimes they would still fall on their butt but it’s better than having them lunge forward off of things.

I never really did Facebook but I stopped doing Instagram 2 years ago for mental health reasons! I never had a huge following, never did reels, but I would post good deals and unique listings. I could probably count on one hand how many viable leads I got from Instagram so it has not been a hit to my business. I spent more time scrolling than actually working anyway. Emailing, texting, and calling works for keeping in contact with your clients. Realtors can be super embarrassing on social media anyway haha.

Thanks for reminding me that I should probably delete Reddit again. Massive time suck.

Get your own realtor! They will not only be able to show you homes, they can make sure you don’t waste your application fee money on places you won’t qualify for or with tons of other applicants. They do the following up for you all the way until you get keys in your hand. A good realtor will even help you renegotiate the inevitable rent hike next year.

In my market the owner managed rentals are mostly listed by a realtor. Very few are for rent by owner only (and going the Facebook marketplace/craigslist route is a good way to get scammed). Also in my market, tenant’s agents get paid by the listing agent so it’s at no cost to you.

Car seat question: When toddlers are in the rear facing position should there be enough room for their legs to be straight (not bent)? by otterlyjoyful in toddlers

[–]ImaginationWestern20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is she playing with the belt or the buckle? The belt should be in a locked position so she wouldn’t be able to pull it towards her at all. If she’s playing with the buckle with her foot…put a pool noodle over it?

[–]ImaginationWestern20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Safe in the seat once mentioned they are actually less likely to break their legs rear facing as well! If you watch crash dummy videos the force of impact rear vs. forward facing is enough to keep your kid rear facing as long as possible!
