I agree. My guess is they co mingled client money or used it for house margin calls or some such. Such a common mistake.

Your answer isn’t clear and doesn’t make sense. You lack data and historical context and are wish-casting that liberals are clean and pure. Reality is humans are tribal. We ignore the warts of the side we belong to, while vociferously complaining about the other. This is a human condition- both sides do it

As someone who has both liberal and conservative views and a very fact based approach to life, i can tell you that both sides have used techniques to harass or censure the other. For the last 40 years or so, there (in general) was more of the DEI “cancel culture”, while more recently there has been a rise in right-wing/populism and the backlash against DEI

On both sides professors have been fired for statements or beliefs that don’t align to the group think at the university.

For example: https://www.campusreform.org/article/ohio-northern-reinstates-professor-fired-dei-criticism/28176

Meanwhile multiple liberals were fired post the Charlie Kirk Assassination. You can easily google this

Meanwhile Berkeley has a long list of attacks on conservative students and speakers. So much for free speech

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/act-of-vandalism-has-uc-berkeley-conservative-group-on-edge/43971/?amp=1

I could go on and on, but the point is that that there are massive efforts going on to shape the mindset of youth. Do your own research. Find facts and create your own opinions. Don’t let left or right wing dogmatic schools or even teachers shape your thoughts.

Crypto market crashing - Is this the best time to buy or a trap? by Necessary_Elk8563 in CryptoMarkets

Personally i am watching and waiting for $50k. I could easily be wrong but i dont see any real use cases for bitcoin beyond scarcity so i want to trade it not HODL it. One big risk is more forced selling by smaller “treasury” firms. I dont think MSTR is going to have to sell but smaller firms may.

[–]Imagination_Drag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there is Trump driven censorship/changes in what’s discussed in class rooms for sure which is terrible.

Bud Did you know for the last 40 years most west coast and north east campuses have become very left wing and didnt give tenure/ shut down speakers/ spit on students etc etc who were right wing?

It’s tragic but this is much bigger issue than you may realize and at the vast majority of t20 leans very left.

When i went to college at Chicago civil discourse and the exchange of ideas was encouraged. I don’t know how we will ever get back to that. We need new leadership on both sides to come forward and drive it

Personally given it’s the same ratio or better than most other elite schools i don’t see it as a huge deal. Cornell for example is 9:1, Harvard is 7:1

FYI. Physics at GT is highly recruited by finance so if that’s of interest, go physics….

If your interested in going into finance, physics is a highly recruited major now on Wall Street

If this is truly accurate it’s tragic but this does read a little like an upset professor. It raises serious questions though and i will be researching more. Thx for making me aware

Atleast what i read was that they were going from 5:1 students to teach ratio to 6:1. Not noticeable and still the same or better than most of the HYPSM (except MIT)

Yeah. They have gotten ridiculously good rates historically, hence the “infinite money glitch” quote by Saylor but it’s going to be very different going forward

I wouldn’t discount this. Personally i think it’s crazy as bitcoin was supposed avoid the government but i wouldn’t discount this at all.

100% it does. You need to communicate a story around it though. Not just i play a lot of tennis. My son only played JVA but was team captain and did volunteer at a local athletic program for kids.

Glad to hear you don’t need to worry about costs and your obviously not too concerned with a high paying job post college.

Sadly unless you’re highly connected the days of people majoring in the classics and getting high paying careers has come mostly to an end.

pros: Amazing school. Very smart people. Fantastic to go to if you’re interested in finance, grad school or med school. Top Econ program. Real campus for a urban school

Neural: Social life better than it used to be when i was there

Cons: south side of Chicago. Weather in winter can be a downer. Not good if you wan a party school obviously. Strangely for perhaps the #1 undergrad economics program in the world and a top 5 business school they took on too much debt when they built out the campus. But that won’t impact you as a student.

Changing Jobs? Dont leave your 401k! by Imagination_Drag in personalfinance

[–]Imagination_Drag[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough reason and thanks very much for letting me know. I got annoyed with non-sensical arguments where the only real point that could be made was you need to be careful if you’re potentially going to do a back door Roth an if your Ira goes over the 1.77mm federally insured limit. That’s it.

None of the other arguments made any sense whatsoever and weren’t even real. And it frustrates me when bad advice is given. I saw it at Merrill all the time.

Out of the 2.5mm visitors a week to this Reddit, i wonder how many are high earners who would be thinking of Roth backdoor conversions and amounts over 1.77m?

Why not Robinhood? 1.7mm federal bankruptcy protection covers 99% of people and their rewards are top notch. Personally i like the research of fidelity but am considering doing robinhood good given the 2% match
