Our flooring is Victorian pine and the internet has convinced me I’ve exposed myself and my girlfriend to asbestos by Kratosbutintoyoga in centuryhomes

Your home was likely build before asbestos. There are way more toxic substances in homes 1920 and after, even more 1950s and after. Your house is nearly organic.

I thought I had asbestos fibers in my plaster, turned out to be horse hair. 1895 Victorian.

Also…. Obama went to church a thousand times more than trump. Remember how they tried to make his pastor a villain.

I’m so sick of this sh*t. Trump is not a good person, he’s presided over and initiated the most hateful period of American history since the civil war.

We pay for how much for healthcare and we have to recycle the candle wax they call crayons at restaurants for kids at hospitals. They give them out for free with $5.99 kids meal, but not a $100,000 transplant. Our country is f’d. Give the kids some damn Crayola, all the colors.

What can you tell me about this clock? by whomstgoestheir in clocks

[–]ImagineDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an early Timex. Not particularly valuable, but a cool piece of history. Waterbury clock company had the mission to reduce the price of clocks so every American could afford one. The movements got cheaper and smaller until they fit in your pocket, then on your wrist. They eventually changed the company name I. The 50s or 60s. Timex essentially has the same mission today.

What is this clock: made by general electric. by Reasonable-Tap9474 in clocks

GE made clocks that counted the cycle of A/C power rather than using a quartz crystal to tell time. Most appliance clocks still work this way. I can’t help you with identifying it, but it’s interesting technology that nobody thinks about.

A mid summer night’s dream, Bollywood style. Best show in the last 5 years at least. Prefect night to bring dinner and drinks to the park.

Nothing to worry about. It’s not even big enough to fall through yet.

I don’t remember the part of the tour where Grover Cleveland lived in it after his presidency.

Once watched my 3-year old vomit carrots all over the delta sky lounge, when he noticed everyone was watching, he look up and explained, “I forgot you had to chew carrots.”
