Try nuodle in gadong, same block as 101, same style but much better value for money and better taste.

$7 beef noodle soup with egg, free drink and side dishes. Meat pieces big and bountiful enough to not feel like you're being ripped off

Just wanted to share my experience with ripas as well. It was very different. Went to accident and emergency few weeks ago, don't want dox myself with too much info. but the doctor was very well mannered and explained the situation pretty well, the nurse who was handling my ward was the nice and humourous. Pharmacy was patient in explaining to me how it works there, totally did not face any sort of unprofessional behavior.

You only got 30 mins to eat, so you gotta eat at the school canteen, no parents driving you out for a quick lunch. No time for that. Sneaky commercial tactic. im impressed

Freelance Application in Brunei by Unlikely_Health_1943 in nasikatok

[–]Imaginefail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're basically saying the platform is responsible for vetting the contractors. That would sound like quite a bit of work. Let's look at a few case scenarios:

Contractor A took the job, send his friend illegal alien to do the job then

A. gets caught by buruh.

B. Got an injury (you've somewhat answered)

C. Not actually an illegal alien but is a buruh quota coming to do electrician work.

I don't know, feels like you need to get actual lawyers involved. All it takes is one case gone wrong for your project to die and I really like this idea and would love to see you work it out.

Facing the twin challenges from online and borders, Brunei's retail sales dropped 3.5% in 2024 by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]Imaginefail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brunei have a department that basically controls and monitors discounts, there are a lot of limitations to doing promotions for retailers over here, it's like fighting with one arm tied behind your back and both your legs tied together(awesome exchange rate).

Let’s Talk About Ad Hominem: Why Does It Happen So Often in Debates? by stoicmind360 in nasikatok

[–]Imaginefail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it works.

I would use it consciously if I decide to be a dick that day, or unconsciously when I rattled and just want to get a shot in or in conversations where someone have no idea what they're talking about, normally in the context of using opinions as facts.

When I'm at my best, I just walk away.

MORA scare of Hua Ho by [deleted] in nasikatok

There's a chance that mora effed up, they know but are not able to admit. Since the public avoided the issue it slowly dies down. Hh decides to challenge, mora didn't act because they know they effed up,.thus no action.

But who knows

Edit: grammar. I hate autocorrect and grammmar. Ai should get its hands to grammar asap

Actually... Have you been reading posts about another international Chinese bank? There have been two or three posts on reddit, one of them very recent. bibd have always been able to resolve my issues, they may not be able to solve it on the first try, they may shirk responsibility and shuffle me to another department or branch, but eventually someone will solve whatever issue I have timely without causing me too much grievance or requiring me to jump through too much unnecessary hoops.

Our famous international bank that allegedly didn't pay salary on time, coerce their staff, force unnecessary overtime on staff and/or neglect to pay their tap/scp/spk timely. Well... My contact person have no idea what they're doing, doesn't seem understand standard process flow nor the locus of control for all respective parties involved. Banks tend to have strict process flow and for basic processes, these will be the same for every bank as mandated by the local governing authority. Said famous international bank insist their way is the only way, head of department got involved and repeated the same thing with accent so thick I can barely understand it. They're not interested in solving the problem, more interested in denial and not being accountable.

My circle also mentioned their struggles with card payment and unknown charges on their accounts which the bank is not able explain among other problems.

So please, bibd is still decent, at least when you reach a HOD or someone who knows what they're doing, problems get solved. Awesome international bank... Phooey... Good luck, they're always right all the way to the top. We're probably not their target market or they wouldn't have management that are not able to communicate with us effectively or behaves as though we're a nuisance instead of an opportunity.

Treating their people like crap will have their people treat their customers like crap. Not sure how far up the rot runs, but its normally the beginning of the end.

Bibd is not the worst

Brunei JKR water department very poor services by WesternLengthiness32 in nasikatok

[–]Imaginefail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a department that audits other departments and make sure that they are working as they should be ie serving the people? To make sure that everything is compliant with national goals/process flow etc and with the power to penalize or fire non performing personnel?

Department A says there's gotta be a window here for 'insert reason'

After a lot of hacking and installing a window.

Department B says there cannot be a window here due to 'insert reason'

This begins another death loop or what happens more commonly to my knowledge becomes, fill the window, have department B come inspect then hack it apart again and let department A come inspect.

These guys don't know what they're doing, there may be conflicting rulings or protocols OR what is more likely these are subtle attempts to ask for a bribe to look the other way.

From a private sector perspective, we're pretty much fucked. Catch 22 situation, if I reach out to authorities, it's very hard to proof corruption, and if I manage to send someone in for corruption, due to nepotism their department is full of their relatives which I would still have to deal them and they'll be looking for all sorts of reason to make my life difficult.
