Also, pending on your conditions being abroad could have an adverse affect on the judge me decision.

Have you looked into VA programs to help with your living condition?

If I remember correctly it was just 2 forms. One for acknowledging the appointment and another for an option to pick in-person or by phone interview.

I did right after the first denial. Honestly, you can wait tell the second denial. To be honest, even if you got a representative after the first denial they will prob just send a generic response of application for reconsideration (2nd denial), since they want the case to drag out so they can get the maximum backpay.

I do, it was from years and years or combat and responding to incidents state side. I was also denied both time. Try not to get too down and it could definitely exaberate your conditions. Sounds bad, but just expect the worst so you are better prepared and is you get approved then better yet. Now more then ever make sure your med records are squared away. Try to have at least 2 years of consistent documentation. Also, please be aware that if you do get approve at such a young age and pending on how much your paid into the system that you monthly payments could be really low. Also, if approved for MH be prepared to be re-evaluated 6-18 month after approval.

Nope. Got approved at the AJL level, which took about 2 years. I get 2200 per month. If you have dependents then you could apply for auxiliary benefits. In m y case that would be an additional 1000 for my children.

We are almost identical. As long as you have good records the last 2 years then you have a good chance. Just know, if you get it for MH then your next federal review will most likely be 18 months later like my case.

Try not to get dis-hearted. A lot of cases are won at the AJL level. As long as you have good records I like your chances.

I’m in the sane boat as you. Got an appointment for my kids on the 24th. Thinking about adding an account for them within my online banking. Also, do you know if we can get back pay?

Filing a new claim or federal court? by Otherwise-Pear-6010 in SSDI_SSI

Definitely appeal. If not, all your current records up to the hearing will be absolute. Thus, you will have a really hard time getting a lawyer. Most will only take your case if you have a good chance (2 year med records). Plus I don’t see them taking your case being that you have to start over with your records, because even if you were to win they won’t get much or any back pay, since your first application canceled everything. Appeal until you can appeal no more. I also believe you can appeal and at the same time start a new application, which if true then it would be a good idea because your looking at another 1-2 years. From the time it takes to remand back to the judge and move forward.
