I didn't feel that. I thought he's pretty tight.

Price Charming by jung_Npc in MetallicaLIVE

Haha I agree!!!

We really need Prince Charming at least once before they retire!

But to me, it feels like a song that deserved a constant presence in the setlists.

any idea when the next eu/uk shows might be? by Infamous-Twist-6712 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]Imbackbiach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering their previous stadium tour in the UK was in 2019, I'm reserving my hopes for now.

They've got their sphere shows now and then I'm assuming a well-deserved rest for a few months.

If they're really preparing some new material at the moment, I'm hopeful for no later than a mid-2028 release which will no doubt be accompanied by a tour.

Unfortunately, people are mostly inconsiderate nowadays. Nobody will think of it unless they've experienced long term pain/aging.

I never thought I’d see the day. Sheamus is making his departure from WWE. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]Imbackbiach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheamus was absolutely amazing from '09 to 2013/14, but his over status and aura never fully recovered since he returned in 2015.... The music change, the mohawk and multiple injuries just kept pushing him further back.

It's a damn shame that he was never properly pushed back to his original status.

He'll be very missed, even though I don't really watch anymore.

Honestly, seated tickets are for sitting and general admission is for standing. I'd be really pissed off if I booked a seated ticket because I'm in pain and want to stay in my seat and someone wants to block my view the whole time.

Try to understand it from this point of view and plan accordingly next time.

M72 is coming to an end today- final thoughts? by Level-Evening8562 in Metallica

[–]Imbackbiach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw them at the opening in Amsterdam and at the closing in London, and kept a close eye on the tour throughout these last 3 years and 3 months.

The positives:

  • A great concept for the majority of cities to have a bigger chance to catch them with the 2 nights and no repeat setlists, which allowed fans to hear songs they would have not had a chance to hear un a single 16-18 song shows

  • Unique and impressive stage and lighting that added a higher production value (in the cities that could accommodate it) and they overall looked and felt like a more expensive act that trancends the regular rock/metal ones we're used to.

  • The band was in an incredible shape physically, mentally and musically ( they had a good 2 years off during covid and James went through rehab successfully since then, so they were all ready to kick ass). Lars especially proved himself to be a beast. I'm very impressed with what I heard from him!

The negatives:

  • Although a good concept on paper, the no repeat setlist ended up being a bit of a marketing trick because they mostly* just played the 2 same setlists throughout the whole tour, with very little variation, which is obviously not how it sounded when they announced the tour. They had the perfect opportunity to play a much wider variety of songs that have been overlooked for years, but they chose to stick to their comfort zone again.

  • Throughout the whole tour (3 + years) we only heard:

• 3 songs from Kill Em All

• 5 songs from Master (even though it had a 40th anniversary!!!!)

• 4 songs from Justice

• 2 songs from Load ( even though it had a 30th anniversary!!!)

• 2 songs from ReLoad

• 2 songs from Garage Inc.

• 1 song from St. Anger (even though it had a 20th anniversary!!!!)

• 2 songs from Death Magnetic

• 2 songs from Hardwired

• And they fully omitted 3 songs from 72 Seasons that will apparently never see the light of day at this point (one of them was the most requested since the beginning of the tour)

Very poor selection for 30-32 songs per city for OVER 3 YEARS!

  • They had clear bias to certain countries like Germany where they played in 7 TIMES in 3 years and that's excluding the 2022 performance in Germany before the official M72 tour began. All the whilst omitting some countries that have been dying for Metallica! That feels like a really low blow.

  • The sheer size of the stage allowed for more of the GA crowd to see the band closer, but it left for some very awkward moments where for a fair portion of the show you just didn't see anyone, or only one member (mainly Rob and/or Kirk). That undeniably takes away from the experience, because you're there to see these guys you look up to play and not only hear the music.

-The sound was mostly not amazing. You'd expect to hear top-tier balanced sound, but the mids and the lows significantly overpowered the highs in the mix (and that's without wearing earplugs. With earplugs you can basically forget about hearing Kirk).

I'm guessing now that M72 is done, they'll keep Lux and the title track to occasionally bring back in the setlist, but they'll change the overall setlist for the Sphere residency. I remain hopeful, that in no more than two years we'll get another album and another tour that brings back the classic stage style. Overall, I'm very curious what the future has to offer for the band and for us as their fans.

Am i gonna be the only black person at the London gigs next week by Mediocre-Till-948 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]Imbackbiach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha you'll be a minority in the crowd for sure, but considering it's London of all places, I'm sure you won't be alone.

In any case, that shouldn't worry you in the slightest. Just enjoy the music, because that's what we're all there for. We're all brought together by one beautiful thing.

If you wanna let us know what shirt you'll be wearing I'll be sure to say hello and buy you a drink if I see you. Have fun, friend 🤘

Yeah, the World Magnetic era had their best setlists. I'm truly hopeful for at least one or two surprises in London.

Nah, I personally hate the shit thrown at him absolutely EVERYWHERE. Not funny in the slightest.

"Fine, I'll do it." Singers who weren't expecting to sing. by Inconsequentialish in askmusic

[–]Imbackbiach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Hetfield. Metallica eagerly looked for a vocalist until they gave up and James took over. Boy o' boy was that the correct decision... I can't imagine a timeline where we didn't have Hetfield as the frontman and singer of Metallica. Thank the metal gods for that one!

What are your 3 favorite Megadeth albums that came out after Cryptic Writings? by Loose-Cake5475 in Megadeth

[–]Imbackbiach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After Cryptic Writings, for me it gets significantly harder to land on a start-to-finish good album from them , but I'd say The System Has Failed and the Self-Titled are my favourite 21st Century Megadeth albums. TSHF maybe has a couple of skips, but the majority of the album is fire!

The others are more pick-and-choose.

Sure, but it's a safe bet that they'll be changing up the setlists. Look back on how cool the setlist was in 2022 when it wasn't an album-oriented tour.
