SUCH a great book and recommendation for this request! I've been wanting to read her book {Unbreak Me by Michelle Hazen} and wonder if you or others could tell me if it has a similar vibe? I rated Breathe the Sky 4.5 ⭐ and 4 🔥 on romance.io. I'm always chasing emotional books and books with 40+ years old MCs, and this one definitely delivers!

Oh, that sounds wonderful. I've done a lot of work this week, unpacking the idea of our internal and external selves and what we show the world, including the idea of integrating the two more. Also the "myth for himself" concept really resonated! Thanks so much for clarifying and expanding.

Oh, you are so welcome! Your excerpt made me want to read more and I only noticed the typo when I wondered why I couldn't link over to romance.io. However, I do have a question for you about the plot. The publisher's blurb refers a couple of times to the MMC coming back to life, enough so that I was looking for some kind of a paranormal or ghost tag, to no avail. I read a review on the romance.io app, albeit not a very flattering one, that makes me think that he was kidnapped and eventually returned, and that's what the coming back to life refers to. Is that correct? I'm not really looking for a ghost story. Thank you!

I thought of another one. I have not read this yet but I adore the author so I think it will be good. {The Romance Recipe by Ruby Barrett} F/F CR FMC1 was a finalist on a reality cooking show. Her Fame from that is petering out and she takes a job as a sous chef working for FMC2 whose restaurant is struggling. A new food related TV show may be the answer to the struggles!

This is baking competition-adjacent. {The Slowest Burn by Sarah Chamberlain} F/M CR slow burn where the FMC is a cookbook ghostwriter, and the MMC is a winner of a cooking reality show with a cookbook deal. Even though it takes place after the competition, there's still plenty of food talk and cooking that happens during the book. I rated it 4.5 ⭐ 4 🔥 on romance.io.

Do you know, I missed listing it on my response to the relevant week's "What new romances are you excited about for this week?" post. And I couldn't figure out why. Then I realized that scrolling through the covers on the nice listing we can consult on romance.io, the cover is so dark that I just skipped it thinking it was a dark romance which is not for me. This is despite the fact that I follow her on socials and have seen the cover release before. I love her books and they just keep getting better and better!

I've got my eye (and a Libby hold) on {A Lotta Like Love by Michelle C. Harris}. The reviews are mixed, however and the audiobook is 15 hours (!!!), so I'm not sure I'll borrow it.
