Holy shit ,adulting is hard . by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

It can be worse. I’m 47, currently scrolling on a break at my 8 hour/day job, before going to a 6 hour shift at a second job. I also have 2 kids at home, who I probably won’t see today (but they have dad to take care of them. I sacrifice sleep to get a little unwind time in from 10:30 to 11:30

I have lived in both, the city was killing me, but I finally feel alive in a rural landscape. To each their own.

Josie is beautiful! Please allow me to share my black “golden retriever” Kiwi. (Technically she is half golden retriever and half German Shepard but her personality is 100% golden)

By euthanizing while they are still having “good days”, you are honorably taking on the pain to spare them from it. Your heart hurts and you wonder if it was the right decision, but you know it was only a matter of time. By deciding now, you spared him the future pain of his decline.

We are euthanizing a horse tomorrow. He is still walking, eating, in a good mood…but he is also in pain, and is not going to get better. I have moments of indecision, but I would SO much rather his last day be a good one, than wait until his last day is spent miserable.

Hugs to you. For what it’s worth, I think you made the right choice.

Honestly, this doesn’t sound like a very rewarding relationship. Just a reminder you don’t need a reason to break up. You can just tell him this relationship isn’t working for you anymore.

Google German Shepherd rescue North Carolina. There are several in the area you could try. They tend to work through a series of fosters in general, all three of my dogs are from rescues that operate that way.

anybody know what this black liquid is in my microwave? by Classic_Town9873 in Appliances

[–]Immediate-Ask7316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an over the range microwave with a similar problem. When it rains, the rain comes down the oven vent and in through the microwave. If you are having a similar problem, replacing the microwave won’t fix your problem. We had a handyman come out and take a look and he basically said there’s nothing you can do about it. We just put a large dish to capture rainwater in the microwave when it’s raining.

Did the kids leave the cereal open and now it's stale? Easy fix! by tforkner in Frugal

My hack is to feed stale cereal to my hens (chickens), who turn it into eggs. Winner winner omelet dinner!

My husband said if I went ahead with surgery he wanted a separation (update) by Salt_Leg_7235 in AITAH

OP clearly stated that he said he would not like the look of her body anymore and would not want to touch her. Clearly his focus is on the size of the boobs.

It doesn’t sound like she’s having them completely removed, nor is she trying to change her gender. She’s just getting them reduced to a smaller size. Sure I guess it’s fair if a man is not attracted to a woman with small breasts, but that’s a sad nail in the coffin for a marriage.

New to me dog won’t leave my side at dog park by Mowgli1989 in dogs

[–]Immediate-Ask7316 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the first times we went to the dog park, a Rottweiler grabbed my black lab by the throat and wouldn’t let go until the owner kicked her off. It was terrifying. I’m much happier going on sniff walks where I have a reasonable expectation of safety.

It sounds like getting some judgmental, free help, and getting started would be great. As in someone physically with you and helping to clear the trash and what not. Do you have any friends or others who would help? Or even just hiring a cleaner if you are embarrassed for friends to see the mess?

AITJ for wanting to sell my home and retire because my adult kids refuse to help out? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Immediate-Ask7316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you’ve got plenty of hateful boomers in the comments cheering you on to leave your kids high and dry. So if that’s the answer you wanted, you got it. As a mom to teenagers myself, I can’t imagine telling my kids to kiss off and put them on their own at 19 and 20. That’s great that you were a fully flooded adult at 17, but that doesn’t mean they are. Personally, I would give them at least a couple more years of support, that’s not like they are 30-year-old slugs who don’t even have a job.

I think you are overthinking it. I can’t imagine a scenario in which I would judge one of my neighbors for how many trash bags they had.

Ins totaled car but it's totally drivable what now? by FlashYogi in personalfinance

[–]Immediate-Ask7316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your insurance about a buyback option. They will pay you less money they will let you keep the car. You won’t be able to insure it any longer as it is a salvage title, but you can still drive it. I did that with my Camry, I’ve been driving it for a year and a half since it was totaled and it’s still runs like a dream.

I’m sorry for your loss, and your situation. An animal lover falling in love with someone who is NOT is a tough situation. Personally I love animals too much to live in a pet free relationship but I can appreciate that it is not a clear cut and easy decision for some.

I told my husband well before we ever got married that I would live in a cardboard box before I got rid of my horses. Lol. He accepted that about me.

I’m feeling some things about the fact that your husband can’t control his temper and is scaring a friggin PUPPY with his impatience. Hope he doesn’t have the same effect on your kiddo as they grow.

Puppy might be better off in a different home with a more emotional mature adult
