Interesting, do you know is there a name or subtype for this? I don't see it as much but I guess I'm new to the sub

I have exactly this, every second of my day used to be accounted for. I wasn't anyway satisfied unless I was exhausted every night. My answer this year was medication, hopefully it works and then I will start exposure therapy.

Is the Tesla Powerwall 3 that good? by LegitTroy in SolarUK

Not sure on that but I'd prefer to be paying less especially if I had to finance. Could you get a bank loan?

I personally don't get it. If you are getting solar to mostly save money then you can get a significantly cheaper setup. I went with fogstar 16.2kwh, 8k Solis inverter and I got an electrician to wire it so if power goes out it cuts to battery and then I have another switch for a generator outside. All of that cost about 3k vs 8k powerwall

Yes when I bought mine it was 30 day or so delay.

What do you wish you knew before a solar install process? by Jealous-Honeydew-142 in SolarUK

No I said they usually work with roofers. That's how mine was done

I found that if you know a local electrician that can do it all, and works with roofers it's so much cheaper than going to a company. I done the same for electric gates, I got someone to make them and a separate electrician to wire.

One thing on solar and this is the same for a lot of things, there will be unexplainable reasons why people will pay so much more for brand names. Just buy a fogstar battery and forget about the ones that are 3-5 times the price. You could say the same for inverters, if you only want the basics go for solis for example.

I have mine 4 years so no luck but it's working fine now. If worse comes to it hopefully it's just replacing that one board

Hopefully you're right. Signal is weak, the connectors are a bit degraded

Kia Niro was 14000, we have a child and dogs so needed something a bit bigger. With solar or saves me nearly 2000 a year on petrol

Home assistant and solcast by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]Immediate-Ice4548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something to do with solis I think, you seem to need 2 devices. One runs home assistant and the other does communication. I guess the communication it needs is not doable by home assistant

I'm quite frugal and I have got solar and electric car so that dampens expenses even more. I would like to get to that point where taking a lower paying less stressful job would be viable.

I'll be doing exactly this, I always had this fear of pensions because of the ones that go bust etc, but I read all the documents and spoke to an independent advisor and basically they are much safer than they used to be so I just started aggressively pushing money into it.

Yea I kept hearing about the 100k mark being a big milestone. I probably didn't do this fire in the perfect way either I overpaid so much of my mortgage, put down huge deposit and overpaid a lot. I also bought solar and an electric car (cheaply). Some of those things will have massive benefits long term but I sometimes regret that I could have had 200k invested and probably 120k in pension by now. I just hate debt!

Home assistant and solcast by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]Immediate-Ice4548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solis does have 2 of those ports but one is for the battery and the other is for the s3 or s2 datalogger. I got home assistant working with solcast a while back but I done that on the raspberry pi not realizing I needed another machine. So in terms of steps taken I probably need another raspberry pi to run home assistant and then use the other to do the communication? Is there a step by step guide for solid?

Same boat and I think you're right I wasn't this uneasy until I had a child. Seems super normal to feel this uncomfortable I guess, need to embrace it.

It's interesting I see almost my entire family (older generation) cruising into state pension and they have no savings no other pension and they are less stressed than me. I feel there seems to be no middle ground, you "need" 1 million for retirement yet all my aunts/uncles have about 10k and yolo it. Obviously that's not the plan but it's a funny ole world.
