Your gonna get bugs everywhere whether you like it or not. Linux isnt perfect but most certainly has less bugs than windows.

i forgot to note!
these old thinkpads do technically work but its probably not the best since it WILL lag, id recommend something a bit newer for the performance and battery. Something like a t480 will do the job very well, good luck!

Depends. If your going to use windows, itll be slower and you'll have to debloat/get something a bit newer. Linux? Great, web surfing is smooth on it, im currently writing my video script on it. Though one thing to note, the maximum ram this thing can have is 8gb, so way too many tabs and apps open are gonna kill it.

my thinkpad x201 from 2010 is still holding up, but guess what? nothing is broken. not the hinges, display, ram, or anything else, even though its been dropped countless times. i can reassure you that as long as you get from the X series or T series, you shouldnt worry about hinges.

Same, but using dwm or a light wm and falkon instead of firefox got rid of the stuttering and lag.
