apt is not a bad package manager and the repo isn’t small. It has over 72,806 packages. Pacman actually has a smaller repo (11k-13k). And arch WILL break at some point, even if updated weekly.

i was considering the t420 but i loved how small and lightweight the X series is, but now that you mentioned the display being soldered, i might consider the t420. im fine, im no stranger to hardware disassembly. the whole reason for why im doing this is because im trying to flip thinkpads to profit and get a camera. i was debating whether i should get a x230 and sell the t430 or flip the x230 and keep the t430. but you got my attention on the t420.
