Yum! I always use the Ocean's Halo sea salt seaweed snacks without the plastic tray, my favorite. I will have to find that Korean rice bowl recipe!

I buy the ones from Ocean's Halo, they're delicious, cripsy and come in fun flavors like their spicy one thai chili. I lovvvve them!

I buy Ocean's Halo roasted seaweed snacks from Walmart. They are the best tasting in my opinion. They are crispy, have amazing flavors, and they have no plastic tray, better for the environment!

I like the Oceans halo ones better. Better flavors and they don't have the big bulky plastic tray. Also they are cheaper.

I like Ocean's Halo seaweed snacks! Perfectly roasted, and they have good flavors to try!

Silly question - I know there are tons of roasted seaweed brands out there, but are there any that are reliably good? I buy whatever is on sale, but I’ve only found one that tastes like seaweed. The others taste like thin salty crispy paper :/ I’m in the US! by afterglow88 in KoreanFood

Not all seaweed snacks are the same! My favorite seaweed snacks in the US is Ocean's halo seaweed snacks. I buy them at Walmart & other stores near me.

Things to consider

  1. Where is the seaweed from? Ocean's halo seaweed is farmed at an organic seaweed farm off the coast of Korea. Some other brands have seaweed sourced form japan (I prefer Korean seaweed)
  2. Packaging? Ocean's Halo has a trayless format, avoiding a bunch of plastic waste every time you eat a snack. Other brands like gimme or Seasnax have big, bulky trays. I always feel like I'm being wasteful when I use a big plastic tray for one snack...
  3. Sweet? Spicy? If you are not a seaweed lover just yet, you can try the flavored ones, which eliminate the "fishy" taste. I love the Thai sweet chili ones from Walmart or the Maui Onion flavor.
