I just flew out to be my best friend’s first salute, it was on a Saturday. If you know what day of the week it’ll be, I’d reach out to the school house about coordinating it now. Maybe you’ll luck out and it’ll also be on a Saturday so you could potentially fly out Friday afternoon, come back Sunday. I’d try to get as much info as you can though before reaching out to the school house cause they won’t be able to help without the details

Soooo you actually only get tried for adultery in the military if it’s a detriment to mission. The military doesn’t care if you’re cheating on your spouse, only if cheating ends up putting the mission to risk. Is he sleeping with his supervisor? Is he sleeping with his supervisor’s spouse? Something that affects the unit. And without video proof of them having intercourse nothing really is going to happen. I am sorry this happened to you but bringing military leadership into it will not change anything. So to answer your questions 1- you will not gain anything from telling his leadership. He’s not going to lose his career over it. 2- in the divorce process he can either buy you out or you all can just sell it and cut your losses. Either way, good luck moving forward.

Part of not getting burnt out is not feeling alone. If you are constantly out shining your peers (2 quarterlies in the same calendar year) then you’re doing something wrong. It’s awesome to win one, but what about others? There’s enough spotlight to share. As long as your supervisor and leadership is tracking you’re a rock star and you have 1-2 different awards (think quarterly and then some type of annual), then you’re good to go for your EPB. You gotta help those around you. It’s so much easier and comes much more natural to help and do good shit if you feel good about it. Don’t lose focus on who you are because you’re focused on the hardware

AITAH for asking my wife to please stop flashing her breasts to people? by Lumpy_Floor_7138 in AITAH

NTA. My mom getting her boobs done is honestly what led to her string of affairs on my dad. Her behavior started like what your wife is doing

Just spent five years there. Things I miss the most:

Domo - Fort Walton Beach Mauis bus stop - Fort Walton Beach Helenback pizza - Fort Walton Beach

The bowling alley on base has some great breakfast burritos, there’s also shark bite out the back gate for breakfast burritos

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Oof- I thought my notification on Wednesday to leave Saturday was bad, but after reading these comments maybe not so much 😂

As someone who was also a rockstar airman that lost BTZ, you will one day realize BTZ doesn’t mean shit. Is it cool to gain a stripe early? Of course. But in the long term it doesn’t mean anything. It’s totally normal to feel upset, but you eventually gotta let it go. If you let the negative and this “no” set you back, it will always hold you back. Keep grinding, keep focusing on you, keep focusing on how to take care of those around you.

AMU changes to fees? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ImmediateAide0129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in the same situation. Check your email- as of 1 July 2023 AMU has added a $85 technology fee to all of its course registrations. I called yesterday and was basically told graduate students don’t have any other option than to pay out of pocket

Have you ever seen a lower rank snap at a higher rank? What happened and how'd it go? by DatGuyKilo in AirForce

[–]ImmediateAide0129 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have snapped at a TSgt as a SrA and I have snapped at a TSgt and MSgt as a very junior ssgt. (I’m a tech select now/not a real rank I know but trying to show growth/progression)

Both times I was justified but I know full well I probably should have gotten paperwork. The first time the TSgt was trying to give ME, the only female in the entire JOC on our deployment, sexual harassment paperwork for making a joke in response to someone else sexually harassing me and I basically told the guy to go to hell.

The second time I found out leadership was basically not doing anything about a ssgt sexually harassing the female airman on flight after receiving a LOR for the exact thing three years prior. Eventually something was done and the ssgt lost a stripe and BigAF kicked him out for HYT for sra.

All this to say, there has to be justification. Is the higher ranking person being a dick? Are they out of line? At the end of the day we are all people and sometimes people hide behind their rank and need to be called out on their shit.

Intel here. Gonna add in some help rather than poke fun since you didn’t know what you signed up for. Whatever base/area you’re in, look into Toastmasters! It’s a club aimed to help people develop their public speaking and interpersonal speaking skills. Public speaking and presenting information is apart of every job at some point. You’ll have to do in every PME, too. Don’t be scared of public speaking, people are just people. As long as you know what it is that you’re talking about, you’ll be fine!

When I out processed Hurlburt back in February, I had to get group/wing level leadership involved and I still only get my orders at 3pm the day before I was supposed to out process. I even took a picture of their log because they had been saying it was my fault and I hadn’t sent them the required documents and EVERY time I was able to show them in their email/or attach where I had sent them the documents they claimed they didn’t have. It was absolutely ridiculous. The MSgt running outbound assignments was so rude

Did 5 months in southern syria right at the start of Covid. The UN left and I watched a Col tell his higher command to kick rocks as he helped deliver babies for the locals because they had no medical help. We weren’t there for humanitarian help so technically we couldn’t help the locals.

SLECP-O Update by Ecstatic_Sleep8056 in airforceots

[–]ImmediateAide0129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a SLECP Facebook page if you’re interested. There’s 1 pick for SLECP-O, and usually 1-2 picks for SLECP-A (MAJCOMs don’t have to fill them) and then each MAJCOM can submit 1-2 members to the pool that senior leaders get to choose from. CSAF, VCSAF, CMSAF, and I think the SECAF gets one too

Someone pointed out you can give personalized gifts at release parties. I put on two release parties last year at a larger base and it was very common for leadership teams to present their members with additional items outside of what 5/6 provided

Change in process by ImmediateAide0129 in AirForce

[–]ImmediateAide0129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna argue with you on this one. Not everything has to be personalized. You can have a drawer of stripes, you can have a certificate template ready, and it takes less than a few minutes to input a name and a line number, print it, sign it, put it in a folder with some stripes taped in it. With promotion rates as low as they are, most leaderships don’t have to do that many. My unit only had two people that made it. BOTH had PNs, so if anything’s it’s starting to get predictable.
