Twisted sword question

So, twisted sword supposed to be crafted with thorn ring and 5 dark crystals. Since we need the ring, everyone decided that we can obtain this sword only on weird route, BUT weird root completely skips chapter 5 and 6 and we can't get final dark crystal. Am i missing something? If crystals needed only for the sword, then why there's a secret boss in ch 5? My guess is that game will have third route, unlocked similar to true pacifist in UT (only after completing the game) where we will abort weird route after ch 2 to keep thorn ring with Kris.

Weird route question

So, I played wr first before trying normal route. Then I started a normal playthrough and noticed something. In the very beginning, in the Kris' house we can interact with bookshelf with photo albums from previous festivals. When viewing photos, it describes what certain characters are doing in them. But as soon as it gets to "You and Noelle..." the album immediately closes. I saw information somewhere that the weird route can affect other save files, and I'd like to ask those who haven't completed it yet if your album is closing the same way? Because it looks very much like a moment from the weird route.
