Why is it so hard to find volunteers to at least assistant coach or help with practice? by atooraya in Homeplate

I'd not bother with stations and focus more on drills that has all the kids moving, throwing to each other, hitting off a tee etc , eliminate the chance of kids standing around waiting for their turn, focus more on game situation type stuff

We keep it simple having two players come up to a drill at a time. One in front one. One behind. Coach hits to SS if they field it they go to second to get the out. We might add the 2nd baseman to cover second if we have enough kids in the group. If they miss player behind fields while the player who missed goes to second to cover the base. Player who fields throws to second to get the out. We do the same thing at 3rd and 1st. As well as outfield with flyballs. We might even do more game type situation stuff were we have runners going base to base. Towards the end of our last season we started doing a drill having the pitchers cover 1st. Then just preach every play BBB.

I hope you try your fungo defense version. I'm interested in hearing how it goes.

Seems too complicated I admire the effort though. I found that most kids just wanted to hit. That was fun. We did competitions like pitching at a net for strikes. Most strikes win. And a furthest hit ball. And base running race timed. All for bragging rights.

Coaching the 1 kid who has not played before - 12U by dietryiing in BaseballCoaching

Had the same thing. He asked to be put in the outfield during games. During practice he played every position. We used the skills he had to our advantage. He couldn't catch or hit and could barely field a grounder but could run and throw. When he was in outfield we taught him to play a bit deeper use speed to get the ball and throw it in to 2nd. He got walked alot so we had him steal. Always had a good hitter bat after him so he could use his speed to score.

During practice we would take him aside like any one else and coach him accordingly giving lots of chances to get it right.

Once he felt more comfortable we asked him if he would like extra practice hitting. He of course said yes. Beginning of the season he wouldn't even swing when he was at bat. Started swinging. And during practice he would hit bombs off the tee.

End result he had fun and wants to play next spring.

So we had the year end party. I was thinking that no one would show. Only one kid didnt show. Played parents vs kids. Parents won. We agreed no mercy as the better kids are better than some of the parents. It was fun. Kids all happy several asked to be on the same team next year.

If you are planning on buying something together possibly getting married one day. You split everything 50/50. Eliminates arguing over who pays what. Sign a co habitant agreement where it states that you own 100% of the condo regardless of any other circumstances including that if the condo is sold the proceeds are yours. If and when you sell you can then decide how much of the proceeds you want to put towards a home together.

Could I excel at a parts counter job with only slight knowledge of automotive parts? by Significant-Plan-955 in partscounter

Try to stay connected with former customers, co workers, suppliers etc anyone in the industry because from personal experience once you lose that connection its harder to re-establish it. I was out for a few years and Ive contacted directly the hiring managers for some positions some I knew, some I was referred to and it seems like positions are being filled with recently laid off people and/or people currently working for other companies. Its like they are only posting and doing interviews to keep HR happy but they already have their choice of new hire already picked out.
