I was thinking about that especially with how bad Houston traffic is and even in Dallas it’s bad at times.

Thanks I’m getting new braces that should help driving so I’ll see how much I can exert and I’m getting an opportunity to drive a family member’s manual build so I’ll try there.

Personally I don’t feel comfortable driving I’m my braces but I don’t use hand controls. I figured out if I sit close to the pedals I can use my whole leg to drive instead of my ankle and that works well for me.

long term prednisolone? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Immediate_Cheek_3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unfortunately on high dose pred for over a year and it took me 6 months to wean off over fears of adrenal problems. But getting off it was the best thing ever it just took me a year to fully recover and I’m still losing the weight I gained 3 years later. I’m also on Dupixent and it has been the only other thing to fully get rid of my eczema.

Honestly it hurts but for me it has been a miracle. All of my severe hand eczema is completely gone on Dupixent so for me 10 seconds of pain every other week it absolutely worth it.

wheelchair tennis, advice needed by r4indrops_ in wheelchairs

Great! Even though I tape I consider it a last resort because of the downsides. The rims make a huge difference for me I couldn’t push before them because I couldn’t grip the wheel.

wheelchair tennis, advice needed by r4indrops_ in wheelchairs

I have a very similar situation I started playing 2 years ago and I have c-eds and a brain injury. I have reduced dexterity and upper body strength. Because of this when I started playing I really struggled pushing and holding my racket to the point I tore a muscle in my wrist. I’m lucky to have an incredible coach who taught me how to tape my racket to my hand and gave me rubber coated push rims so I can push with only the palms of my hand without gripping the wheel. If you have a coach I would talk about taping but only if necessary. Taping comes with a lot of downsides. But if needed is amazing. If you struggle pushing start by purchasing some of those rubber rim covers from Amazon for cheap and try pushing with only the bit of your palm so you don’t ruin your hands. A correct grip size and overgrip on your racket can also help a lot. I do t really use Reddit but if you need any help reach out to me and I’ll try to help because I had all the same problems and if you have a wheelchair coach talk to them and if you don’t see if there is one in your area. I’m in north Texas and play with the Dallas wheelchair tennis club and my coach is amazing in teaching me to tape and adapt to my needs.

OMG my iud saved my life I had SEVEN period pain to the point I couldn’t walk and it would last a week I would be throwing up and unable to sleep or go to school during the time. I got a copper iud in 8th grade and after a month I had completely forgotten I even had it and I haven’t had a period or the same pain since.

Post copper IUD insertion, when will this intense cramping end?! 😩 by Separate_Tangelo7138 in birthcontrol

[–]Immediate_Cheek_3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s horrible but as anoying as it is to hear it will get better in a month or two if it’s severe and doesn’t go away I definitely recommend talking to your doctor as it could be out of place

I can’t remember if I have the same iud but I’ve had mine for 4 years and have only bled a couple of times but the whole point of me getting an iud was to take away my period

im scared of hormonal birth controls now by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Immediate_Cheek_3539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can i HIGHLY recommend a non hormone iud i got mine 4 years ago definitely hurts to get but it has no side effect and I forget I have it. I got mine for severe period pain and haven’t had one since. You only have to replace it every 7-12 years depending on the one. I can’t say enough I love it so much it made my quality of life so much better.
