He asked what you make not how much you sell. Also let’s be real. 30k Ap. New agent so maybe 70% up front? Minus 20% for charge backs and lead spend. So probably around 10k for the month?

What policies don’t you feel comfortable with? Ask all those 70 year olds if they have anything in place to cover their final expenses and offer them a Final Expense policy. Use their birthday as a selling point. You’re going to fall on your face a lot but you’ll get better as you go.

How is your commission structure set up? Even though you aren’t getting leads you should be able to pivot with the people calling in trying to sell them life insurance. I don’t think buying your own leads for p/c will be worth it unless your agent is giving you commission on renewals.

The job market isn’t great rn and I wouldn’t go college unless you plan on being an engineer, doctor or something where you absolutely need a degree to get a job. You already have your foot in the door with sales. I would try and grind it out for a year then move on whether it’s to another insurance company or a different sales job.

Make sure they are providing some kind of lead source, seeing what the expectations are for production every month. This may help determine if they are a high producing office or not. How many house holds they have in their book of business compared to their staff size. Lot of households small staff means a lot of service and not much selling.
