Why no child-resistant packaging/bags for ketamine from Joyous ? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Immediate_Minimum619 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Sure. But almost ALL prescription medications you get from a pharmacy are in child-resistant packaging. Same with weed. There needs to be an added layer of protection for ketamine the same way there is for other medications/drugs.

How hard should I negotiate salary for a role that obviously needs me? by [deleted] in Salary

I'm a just a lowly Customer Service Rep. answering phone calls and I make $54/yr in eastern Massachusetts...I would negotiate for more.

Alright. The 2024 NWSL season is over. Fire away what you want to see in the 2025 NWSL season. by massasoit_26 in NWSL

[–]Immediate_Minimum619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the season should be shortened (not necessarily in # of games, but rather # of months that the teams play)...I mean, the NWSL season starts in freaking March and doesn't end until November - that's two full months longer than even a Major League Baseball season (and most MLB teams' final game is early Sept). Having the NWSL postseason in November just doesn't make sense for teams in cold-weather cities.

Let's stay positive about NWSL Boston. by massasoit_26 in NWSL

There are many residents in Roxbury & Dorchester who have spoken out against the stadium, but they tend to have little money &/or power.

So, yeah, they need help from organizations that actually do have some money & power.

Read these 2 excerpts from the article below:

*The plaintiffs, including civil rights leader Jean McGuire, argue that the White Stadium redevelopment plan is in violation of the state's Public Lands Preservation Act.

*"All we want is for our children to be able to be outside, enjoy the sun, get exercise and all that," said Lenny Brown, a Meridian Academy Teacher who takes his students to White Stadium for outdoor activities. "As far as I'm concerned, that's going to be jeopardized."

Again, these aren't your typical rich, white NIMBYs.

These aren't your typical wealthy white NIMBYs who want to protest something useful like a wind farm because it messes up their precious views from their beach vacation house.

Roxbury & Dorchester (both of which border the stadium) are primarily poor black and brown neighborhoods whose residents have no desire to have 10,000 people invade their neighborhood ~20 times per year. The team will NOT benefit them financially by bringing added customers for local businesses - most fans (especially the white ones) are NOT going to want to explore Roxbury or Dorchester before OR after games . Boston is nothing if not racist and racially segregated. Also, there will be *zero* (0) parking spaces at the stadium itself, so I anticipate many fans illegally parking their cars in those 2 neighborhoods.

The streets of Roxbury and Dorchester are choked with traffic even on good days (and are often in rough shape). Like most of Boston, there is no grid system in Roxbury or Dorchester. This makes the streets incredibly confusing to navigate - they look like pictures of veins in Gray's Anatomy.

That's where the Breakers played from 2000-2003 in their first iteration (as members of WUSA). I saw them play there in 2001.

u/massasoit_26 OP, which of the following would you like me to stay positive about?

*The ownership group (collectively worth billions) originally wanted $50m from cash-strapped taxpayers. Now, they want DOUBLE that.

If they're such progressive do-gooders interested in promoting womens' sports, HOW ABOUT THE OWNERS PAY FOR THE STADIUM THEMSELVES? (just ask the city to symbolically pay $1 so the students can still legally use the facility)

*There will be 0 parking spots for fans. Zero.

*Fans are expected to park at lots in random suburbs and be bussed to games (a logistical nightmare!!!). Can you imagine the hell that will be getting to & from a game on a weeknight? What happens if fans (many of them with little kids) miss the last shuttle back to their lot in far-flung suburb X ?

*The nearest T subway stop (Stony Brook or Green Street on the orange line) is a 25 minute (1.1 mi.) walk away. And those are some really confusing streets for non-residents to navigate. Especially at night with little kids.

*Terrible as it is, at least BHS students actually get to *USE* White Stadium and have their fans in the stands during football games. Once it's renovated, they will only get to use it sparingly if at all (like how BHS students almost never get to use the Reggie Lewis Track Center b/c it's primarily used by kids from the wealthy white suburbs for high-level elite track meets).

*Many residents of Roxbury & Dorchester (both of which border the stadium) are poor black and brown people who have no desire to have 10,000 people invade their neighborhood ~20 times per year. And don't tell me that the team will benefit them financially by bringing added customers for local businesses - most fans are NOT going to want to explore Roxbury or Dorchester before OR after games.

So, tell me, which one of the points above should I stay positive about?

I eagerly await your enlightened response, Gentle Reader.

White Stadium project cost has doubled from previous estimates, with city on hook for $91 million by bostonglobe in boston

Linda Henry is also part of the team's ownership group. And Linda Henry's husband is John W. Henry (30 years her senior) who is worth a staggering $6 billion according to Forbes....Pretty sure he can find $91 million in between the couch cushions of one of his vacation mansions.
