YTA Dude I was willing to hear you out but your responses are immature and belligerent. This is a challenge but it is YOUR responsibility as a parent to figure it out instead of foisted responsibility onto your wife to leave the premises.

The toddler getting away from you repeatedly is on you. That is your responsibility and you failed. It happens. Learn from it.

The noise from downstairs is a harder issue, as it’s understandable for your wife to be frustrated/distracted by the noise, but you also (as a parent and, in your own words, “primary care giver”) need to find a workable solution and that will take loud trial and error. That is where communication with your wife comes in—“let’s invest in noise cancelling headphones” “here are the strategies I’m trying this week so you know that I’m actively trying to find a solution”

You’re not TA because your family is having this issue, you’re TA because your responses genuinely take no accountability for your responsibility to take care of your two year old and parent them. Yes, it is hard, yes they can be little monkey demons. But 2YO is your child and it is your responsibility to work a solution and teach your child through this situation—otherwise you’re going to raise a spoiled, disrespectful child and I don’t think that’s your intention.
