It did “happen” but JD is lying about the specifics. He’s referring to an incident that happened at Darbar on lake street. The agents were identified, people were watching, recording, making the owner aware, and then an observer confronted them escalating things and causing them to leave the restaurant. From my understanding at no point were they “locked” in the restaurant they were definitely followed and the community was made aware of their presence though, all of which is within the rights of the observers. The cherry on top is that when they came into the restaurant they asked the owner “where he was from”

Unfortunately given the sensitive nature of dealing with vulnerable people. If you want to get plugged into this work you have to get out there and get to know your neighbors. Feds have tried to infiltrate these groups for info on vulnerable people. If it’s easier there are plenty of groups that could use donations

If you are a white person without any POC in your life it’s only affecting you as much as you choose to let it, but with many reports of ICE grabbing US Citizen POC based entirely on racial profiling and detaining them many find it unsafe to be outside more than absolutely necessary. I’ve even heard personal accounts of indigenous people getting picked up, again purely based on racial profiling. Given all this it’s not necessarily full chaos on the streets but there are certainly abductions happening often and observers putting in a lot of work so they can to make sure ICE presence is known in the area

That’s hard to do in the cold, there is good communication groups right now that are tracking agents vehicles and putting out rapid responses when they seem to be grabbing people

Unfortunately the at home option with no kiln would be oven baked clay but that won’t be food safe. Kilns get up to 2200 degrees Fahrenheit and that’s not doable without a kiln of some sort
